SHOOT TO KILL

Ren

"There you are!"

"Run!"

"Shit." I cursed.

Napuno ng putok ng baril ang paligid. Ayaw ko pa sanang tumakbo kung hindi lang ako hinila ni Tomas at walang pakundangang tinulak habang sinisigawan na bilisan ang pagtakbo. Gusto ko syang suntukin kasi mas na-pe-pressure ako sa pag-sigaw nya sa tenga ko mismo.

"Go, run! I'll buy time while you escape."

Alam ko na ang ibig sabihin nya sa buy ng time ay ang pagkalabit ng baril. Pumikit ako ng mariin ng pagtalikod ko ay sunod-sunod ang palitan ng putok ng baril. Napatalon ako ng may tumamang baril sa may paanan ko mismo. Gago 'yun ah, sinong umasinta 'nun? Duling naman.

Nanginginig ang kamay ko habang mahigpit ang hawak sa pistol. Never in my life have I imagine holding a gun!

At.. ang bigat ng helmet ko! Feeling ko ito nagpapabagal ng takbo ko!

"Ren do you hear me? Keep on running don't look back.."

Natigilan ako ng marinig ko boses ni Cosmo sa kabilang linya.

"No, fuck. Don't stop! Keep on running Ren!" He cursed continuously. I heard his panting voice and his fast footsteps.

He's running too.

We're finding each other.

"Where are you.." he cursed under his breath. "Just run straight Ren! I'll find you.."

I unconsciously run to my right.

"What the fuck! I said run straight Ren!"

Lumiko ako sa kaliwa.

"Don't-"

"Putangina, saan ba ang straight?!" I burst out. Stressed na ako at hindi nakakatulong na bobo pa ako sa directions!

I heard his silent curses at the other line. His nonstop sighs. It's like his telling himself to calm the fuck down.

"Okay.. Ren listen to me, do you see a tree?"

"That's your question?! This is a fucking forest?!"

Ano ako tanga?!

"Ren baby.. It's not time to be sarcastic." Malambing n'yang sabi.

At hindi ito ang oras para lumandi!

"What?! All I see is damn trees! Ginagago mo ba ako Cosmo?"

"Tang ina."

"Alam mo fuck you! Magmumurahan lang ba tayo dito?!"

"Okay-" I heard him sighed. If he's frustrated well, me too! "I need you to stay still. I'm going to find you. Marunong ka 'bang umakyat ng puno?"

Saglit akong nag-isip.

"Marunong."

"Good. I need you to climb the nearest tree."

Gusto ko syang murahin dahil sa kung ano-anong pinaggagawa nya sakin pero wala  akong oras para sa mga ganung bagay. Someone risk their life because of me. Even if I don't understand a single thing of what's happening I'll do whatever it takes to survive.

"Okay, I'm climbing now."

"Be careful Ren. Don't make any sounds. I'll find you."

Pano kung bigla akong nautot? I cursed at myself. Hindi ito ang tamang oras para sa mga kalokohan Ren!

"How would you do that?"

"I have my ways. You know I always find you.."

Ilang minutong pakikipaglaban sa sarili dahil sa bigat ng katawan sa wakas nakaakyat din ako ng puno! I quietly hide behind a branch. I held at it tightly. Wag sana mamawis ang kamay ko dahil siguradong dudulas ang kapit ko sa punong 'to!

"Shh, someones coming.." Cosmo whispered.

How did he heard that when he's on the other line?!

I looked around as I heard footsteps. Those bad people. They're here.

"Shit." I cursed when I saw them at nasa ibaba lang sila ng puno kung saan ako parang koala na nakakapit! Isang lingon sa taas at kita agad ako!

Kung hindi ako umakyat ng puno malamang nakita na nila ako! This weird idea somewhat save me.

"Cosmo, they're here." I whispered.

No one's answering.

"She's somewhere here! Find her!"

Apat sila. Lahat may hawak na baril as they keep on searching.

Mga bobo. Nasa taas lang ako.

"Shoot to kill if you saw someone, we just need the woman."

Nanlaki ang mata ko ng matanaw si Cosmo hindi kalayuan sa pwesto ko. He's behind the bushes and he has a gun in both hands. He's in full black get up and this is the first time I saw him with these outfit. It suits him.

Pero mag-isa lang sya! Nasan ang mga agents na kasama nya kanina?

"Cosmo kung ano mang iniisip mo, wag mong gagawin.."

He doesn't response.

I got no response.

He's too busy calculating his move.

Pigil hininga ako ng makita walang pakundangan s'yang tumakbo at lumipat sa likod ng puno!

Pucha. Hihimatayin ata ako sa kaba ng pinanggagawa nito!

Mabilis nyang binaril yung isang lalaking malapit sakanya. Agad natumba bago pa 'man sya natutukan ng baril! Nagulat at hindi napansin na merong tao sa likod ng puno sa bilis ng kilos ni Cosmo!

Cosmo worked in silence. Binuhat nya yung lalaking nabaril para itago sa likod ng halamanan. Talagang hindi sya mapapansin kung ganito kalinis trumabaho. Kahit yapak nya walang maririnig na sounds! Parang nakamute lahat ng ginagawa nya. He's gun has a silencer I guess. There's no sound when he pulled the trigger.

"He executed his plan quietly. He thinks fast in a critical situation he can think of a smooth plan within a second. That's years of training to master. Your lover boy has the skills."

Someone is..

What the fuck.

May tao sa likod ko?!

I panicked as I slowly look behind me. Tumakas ang dugo sa mukha ko when I saw a guy smirking looking at me while he has a dagger in his left hand quietly playing with it.

Nasa iisang puno lang kami at.. kelan pa sya nakaakyat sa likod ko?!

I was about to muttered a word when he used his dagger to stop me from talking. Tinapat nya sa mismong bibig ko!

"Shh. Be quiet let's watch him. I like your lover boy. He's smart, he tricked us."

"Sino ka?"

Tumaas ang kilay nya. He smiling as if he's amused that I don't know him.

"You really don't remember huh. I'll tell you later. Let's watch first."

Tinutok ko sakanya ang baril na hawak ko.

"Woah, you have a gun? That's nice!" He looked excited!

"Let's see if you can pull the trigger now." Parang wala lang sakanya na merong baril na nakatutok sa noo nya! Mas nilapit nya pa hanggang sa nakadikit na sa noo n'ya ang mismong baril!

"Shoot me!" he shouted at me.

Tang ina nito! Bakit sumisigaw?!

"Ren! shit!"

I heard loud gunshots. I was so shocked that I accidentally pulled the trigger!
