A Flight to Catch

(A Few Hours Later, Airport-Base)

"There it is", Elena said, after Nate and Ella woke up from their nap, the two quickly got dressed as Elena drove the two over to an airport-like base; the plane was still there, being loaded up

"Here, you'll need this", Ella said, holding out a handgun which Elena took

"Man... I don't want to have to use this", Elena stated

"I know, but we have to do this quietly", Nate explained, "if they catch us sneaking onto that plane, we're dead",

"We only have one shot at this, get there quickly and quietly, everyone ready", Ella asked as Nate and Elena nodded their heads; then, they were off, cutting through buildings, and sneaking around the area, avoiding the many goons in the area, not long after, the three were near the airplane

"Alright, looks like a straight shot from here", Nate said

"Well then, let's climb", Ella said as she began climbing over the fence, Nate following after, not helping Elena over

"What are you do-", Elena began

"Elena, listen", Nate began

"Damn it, I knew you would try something like this", Elena argued, beginning to climb up but was stopped by Ella

"Elena, this was my call... I know what we're up against, and it's not going to be pretty... this is almost far worse than Lazarevic", Ella explained, "my life may be on the line, but I don't want to lose anyone; just take that jeep and get away, please",

"Come back safely... once you're back though, you will hear it from me", Elena stated

"I'll hold you to it", Ella said with a small smile as Elena ran off towards the jeep

"Are you sure about this", Nate asked

"Positive, let's get on the plane, save Sully, and get out of here", Ella said

"And get the target off your back too", Nate replied making Ella nod her head in agreement, as the two ran forward, they were immediately spotted; and the goons began to open fire, the plane's tailgate began to close up, their time was running out, and fast, as Nate and Ella traversed through, the plane began moving

"We're not gonna make it", Ella said, the two sprinting after the plane, but to no avail, not long after, Elena drove up with the jeep

"I got you guys, come on"', Elena called out, Nate and Ella jumping on

"Deja vu, right", Nate asked

"Yeah", both Ella and Elena said in unison

"Get us up to the landing gear", Nate asked as Elena sped up, the two climbing on top of the jeep; as they neared the front landing gear, Nate and Ella jumped onboard, Elena swerving out of the way, the landing gear began moving inside the plane; soon after, Nate and Ella were greeted with little light,

"Now, to play the waiting game", Ella said as Nate nodded his head, the two sitting down in a small opening for a few hours

"Hey, you ok", Nate asked

"Yeah", Ella said

"No, you're not, this is about Marlowe and Anne, isn't it", Nate asked as Ella sighed

"A little bit", Ella replied

"Hey, you'll be fine, I'll be by your side through it all", Nate stated

"I know, but... I don't want you, or anyone else getting hurt", Ella said

"We won't, haven't been hurt on missions, yet", Nate said, making Ella give him an "oh really", look

"Let's see, Sully hurt himself during our search for the Golden Abyss; Elena almost died in a helicopter crash", Ella stated, "and you got shot and hit with a grenade... shall I continue",

"Ok, may have slipped my mind", Nate muttered

"All what I know though, you, Sully, and everyone we're friends with are all the family I need", Ella explained, "and I wouldn't have it any other way",

"Alright", Nate said with a smile

"How much time do you think it's been", Ella asked

"About a few hours, wanna check and see what's going on", Nate asked

"Yeah, just be careful", Ella said as Nate nodded his head, entering a crawlspace, Nate began army crawling through, Ella right behind him

"Oh, shit", Nate said, not long after, the grate above him opened up, a goon pulling Nate out, as Ella quickly got out of the crawlspace, she saw Nate pinned to a wall, the goon opening up the plane's tailgate

"Let. go. of. him", Ella said, jumping onto the goon's back and punching him in the head, only for the goon to throw her off and toss Nate onto the tailgate, Nate and the goon began throwing punches at each other as Ella began tampering with a crate

"Nate, watch out", Ella called out, pulling a crate's parachute, sending it out of the plane, the goon falling as well

"Ella, move", Nate shouted

"No, no, no, no, no", Ella muttered, running away from the falling supplies only for she and Nate to fly out, both holding onto some supplies that stayed on the plane, quickly and carefully climbing up, the two were back in a shootout, the plane now catching fire, alarms blaring, not long after, the plane's side came off, all goons flew through and out of the plane

"Well, whether we like it or not, this is our stop", Ella called out, both she and Nate looking around for anything to use, mainly a parachute; however, both were flown out of the plane, just in time to see it go down into the sand, making their way over to a crate, Nate was able to pull the parachute, saving their fall, as they landed, both looked towards the plane wreckage

"This is not good", Nate muttered, both were now trapped somewhere in the Rub' al Khali desert
