I hate my life; shit why can't I be in peace for one freaking week?

I was not allowed to kill those leeches else I would have killed them for making decisions of my life. They don't get to choose who I marry; I have a mate, it's not safe to tell them about it. She's a human and they'll definitely either try to kill her or use her against me. I cannot let that happen; I've worked so hard to keep them in their place.

I dashed out of the throne room the minute they told me that I have to marry Aurora, the granddaughter of that old hag. I have nothing against her, in fact she is nothing like them, she's a good vampire. She'll make a great queen but she is not Luna.

Before I could leave the palace and go back to my mate, my mother stopped me to tell everything about Luna. She bugged almost every detail of her from my mouth. My mom is the sweetest person I've known. She didn't mind that I've mated with a human, she was happy with the fact that I have a mate.

After my mother, Carter stopped me. He was so damn stubborn. He started advising me about how I'm doing wrong and how I am cheating on my mate. Damn if only I could tell him that the girl, I'm currently with is none other than my mate.

I would have told him if he was a royal but Carter isn't. Normal vampires are easier to manipulate and read. Carter is the person I would blindly trust but he is still vulnerable to threats, any well practiced wizard or witch could read and control his mind.

Him knowing about Luna will definitely put her in danger and I don't want that.

"I'm leaving," I spat out and started walking. I'm done with listening to Carter's bullshit and him disrespecting my mate.

"Stop there Lucas, you have some kingdom works to do," he stopped me for the 6th time today.

I knew the meaning behind his sentence, I have more important works to do than waste my time with Luna. Fisting my hands, I walked straight to the study room.

"We have reported ten vampire deaths this week, everyone was blead to death by jasper wood. We haven't found the person nor the source of jasper wood. The villagers are scared and moving onto the human territory," he shoved me the reports of the death cases.

Very good, this is what I want. More problems.

"Did they find any handprints or scents?" He shook his head.

"What about the vampires who died? Do they have something in common?" Again, he shook his head. Great, no clue and a lot of deaths.

I assed the vampire bio-data and the picture of their death one by one. Seven males and three females, all of them are either adults or old vampires.

What does the killer want?

Is he a serial killer?

I took all the pictures and arranged them in the order of their deaths. From first to last. There should be some clue, some pattern or anything.
