Chapter-70 Reunion

"Now I know why those people helped me to get Luna," Jeremy started, making us even more confused.

"What people?"

He took a deep breath, "Listen even I am not sure but someone from our side is working with them. And before you conclude, that's not me."

Wait, that doesn't make sense. From what I thought he was the one who gave them jasper wood for the help they did to him aka to get Luna. If he's not the one then who the heck is working with them?

Now I am glad that I lied to the court, we have a black sheep and that person isn't the one who kidnapped Luna like we expected, it's someone else.

"When Luna started working on my bakery, while leaving after I appointed her, a stranger came to me and talked about Luna's real identity. At first, I didn't believe him but when I saw Luna with you the next day, I couldn't help but believe his words. You looked so high on love and completely clueless about who Luna is.

"The next day, I tried to look for any scars on Luna as we knew about the curse but she didn't. Yet, from the way she acted, I was convinced that she is indeed the cursed one. So, I went to that stranger for help. At that point all I wanted to do was save you like I promised your sister so when they gave me a deal, I took it without a second thought.

"Then only after taking the deal I realized how dumb I am to make the same mistake again. So, I waited, I delayed the deal to make sure Luna is indeed the one. Those people even showed me proofs and told me about the deal she made with a warlock called Elijah. Hearing that, I thought she made a deal to kill you. I couldn't take the risk and proceeded with the deal.

"For them to kill Luna, they wanted ten jasper wood in return. So, with the human cash I had, I got them from a black-market dealer. The deal was to take Luna inside the forest and stab her to death. But guilt killed me inside, what if I am wrong and what if I killed your mate instead?

"So, I changed the deal and asked them to harm her enough so she loses her memory and that I can take her with me. They agreed to it. But none of us failed to foresee your entry in that and none of us realized that you are indeed her mate."

Wow, that's a lot of information to take in. If only I haven't found my mate back then, I would've lost her forever. I tightened my grip on her as she leaned on my chest. Calm down Luke, your mate is here with you and no one is going to take her.

"Then she escaped, my whole plan got spoiled. Since she didn't remember anything, I thought she is gone for good. But I wanted to make sure that she remembers nothing so I made a deal with the spirits who guided her. I made a deal that I'll help her kill the king but in return they shouldn't meet Luna in her dreams."

Talking about spirits, I wanted to ask Luna what the hell really happened in her life before me.
