Abby had awoken to a comfortable pressure on her chest, shifting slightly to be able to properly look at the woman laid on top of her. There she was, Amelia Shepherd, gorgeous as ever sleeping peacefully with her hair cautiously resting on her back. Abby took in the sight of the very naked lady in her bed, her hand gently coming up to trace shapes across her back. Not long after she heard Amelia sigh in contempt as she slowly came around. Abby smiled in awe when Amelia finally opened her eyes to look up at her.

Abby whispered a low "Good morning" her voice coming out deep and raspy. Amelia softly bit the edge of her lip, she would be lying if she said that she didn't find it incredibly hot.

"Mmm, good morning." She hummed as she nuzzled her head back into Abby's chest, placing light kisses around her collar bones. "Very good morning." She added practically whispering but in the quiet of the room Abby still heard.

"You comfy there?" Abby chuckled watching as the brunette relaxed on top of her boobs.

"Very. I've got the best pillows." Although she couldn't see her face, Abby could practically hear the smirk of her face. After a couple of minutes Amelia lifted her head yet again, resting her head on her arms just looking at the woman underneath her.  "You're beautiful."

This time it was Abby's turn to smirk. "And you are whipped." She couldn't help but laugh at the unamused look on the girl in front of her's face. In a playful huff Amelia rolled of of the Grey girl to face away from her. "Hey c'mon." Abby said as she moved to sit up on the headboard, pulling Amelia's body to straddle her lap.

So there they sat, Amelia's legs either side of Abby, who had her hand on the smaller ones waist. Slowly rubbing her hands up her sides Abby whispered lovingly, "You are so gorgeous." Slowly leaning in she placed gently kisses to the brunettesAeck, making her way down to her collar bones, before pulling away completely. "Wow, I got you good huh?" She asking cockily and her fingers traced over the red and purple marks that where littered all across Amelia's chest.

The little comment earned Abby a little shove to the shoulder as she giggled at the reaction. The two just looked at each other for a moment before Abby spoke up again. "Come on, we should get ready." She said tapping Amelia's back signaling for her to get off of her.

Amelia just groaned at the thought of getting out of bed, that was until Abby promised she'd make the two breakfast, then she couldn't get up fast enough. Abby just shook her head as she left her room waiting for Amelia to follow.

Amelia and Derek were in surgery together working on a guy who fell off of his roof. Since she had her brother trapped, Amelia decided that now was a good time to bring up his move to DC. "When do you leave for DC anyway? I was gonna ask Meredith if I could store some things in your side of the closet."

"Meredith told you that?" Derek muttered from behind his mask.

"You both did, loudly, until about 4 in the morning. How does that work exactly? You're not separated but you're not living together." Amelia asked, not moving her focus from the guy on the operating table.

"Meredith's staying behind?" Warren chimed in from behind them.

"She is. Besides" He started directing his words at his sister. "Don't think I didn't hear you last night. Even over Meredith's yelling, we heard you. Less so Abby, more just you." Derek said rather smugly at the fact he was clearly embarrassing his little sister.

"Oh." Amelia stated blankly, her cheeks turning a shade of pink under her mask.

"Hey, its not crazy right, to go after this opportunity? I'm not a bad person for wanting this." Derek said, sounding like he was trying to convince himself more than anyone else.

"No, but Meredith's not either. This is her home. It's your kids' home. You can't blame her for wanting to stay. How are you gonna get laid when the person you get laid with is here and you are in DC?" Amelia asked, much to her brothers dismay. Derek looked clearly uncomfortable by the question. "Oh grow up. Its a valid question."

Derek sighed, quickly steering the conversation in a different direction. "Okay. Removing the skull flap."

Abby was sat in the cafeteria, just enjoying her lunch when a woman came up to her. "Excuse me." Abby looked up to see Dr Margret Pierce, one of the women she interview for Yang's replacement. Clearly she had gotten the job.

"Hey, Dr. Pierce right?" Abby asked welcomingly. It hadn't been that long since she was the new surgeon, trying to learn everyone's names and make good impressions.

"Yeah hi. You're Dr. Grey. Well the other Grey, you know cause there's Meredith and Ellis and then obviously you-" Pierce cut herself off when she realized she was rambling. "Sorry." Abby couldn't help but find the woman's awkwardness endearing.

"It's okay. C'mon sit down." She said extending her hand to the empty chair next to her. Smiling as Maggie sat down. "So hows it been so far? Managing to get around okay?"

Maggie just chuckled lowly as if to say 'not at all'. "I'm getting there. I won't be the new kid forever right." She shrugged, clearly trying to downplay that she was actually finding it quite difficult to fit in around here. "You know your sister is really stand off-ish."

Now Abby chuckled at the mention of her sisters unwillingness to change. "Yeah, shes like that. Also you kinda replaced her best friend, her twisted sister." Noticing the confused face on the other woman's face she continued. "It's nothing personal. She'll get over herself soon, just don't worry about it. She's a pain in the ass but once you get used to it you'll find its kind of charming."

"Yeah, I hope so."

------

Abby walked into the attending's lounge after standing outside listening to Maggie and Meredith's argument. They had been butting heads over a patient all day. "Bit harsh don't you think?" She asked her big sister.

Meredith just scoffed lightly before  running her hands over her face. "I don't get why I have such a distaste for her."

Abby chuckled. She knew exactly why. "It's because she all optimism and lets be best of friends, shes happy and rainbows. And you dear sister, are cynical and bleak, down right depressing and rain clouds..." Meredith just looked at her sister waiting for her to finish. "But we both know that's not the issue."

"What is then?" Meredith asked, even though she knew the answer and didn't want to admit it.

"She's not Cristina Yang."

Abby stepped into the elevator ready to go home, as she looked up from her phone she saw the one person she had been dying to see all day. "Hey you." Abby said rather cheerily.

"Hey." Amelia said sounding rather glib. This didn't go unnoticed by the taller woman. Abby pulled the smaller girl into a side hug so she could rest her head on her shoulder.

"Whats wrong?" Abby asked, genuinely concerned about her... Well she didn't really know what they were.

"I just had to tell a little boy that daddy's not coming home again. I know its the job but-"

"Its still shitty." Abby finished for her.

Amelia just sighed in response. "Yeah. Real shitty."
