"Okay Miss Smith, you have to keep your stress levels down; what you experienced was eclampsia due to an increase in your blood pressure resulting in a seizure. This is a very serious diagnosis as this can lead to you suffering a stroke, placental abruption or early delivery which will affect the baby. We will keep you in tonight to make sure you're stable then you'll be placed on bed rest" the doctor informs us.
I can't help but feel guilty for even allowing myself to worked up to the point of putting my baby in danger all because of her no-good father, if anything you would think I would be avoiding him but I need him now more than ever. East was standing next to me holding tightly onto my hand, "Thank you so much Doc, can our family come see her now?" East asks referring to everyone who I'm guessing was sitting in the waiting room.
"Yes, they can just keep the noise down" she smiles before leaving the room as East follows going to call everyone else, "Oh mi pobre bebé, dame un beso" my mom cries rushing to hold my face leaving several kisses all over my face. "Estoy bien mami, lo prometo, deja de llorar" I say softly wiping away her tears before leaving a kiss on her forehead just as Ma Dukes comes over showering me in affection as well.
"How's the baby?" she asks rubbing on my tummy. "The baby is good they're just keeping in tonight to make sure everything is good" I explain just as the kids spot me as they walk in with East, "Mommy" they cry rushing to the bed trying to climb in with me. "Mommy isn't feeling well right now, so you can't get in with her" East tries to explain causing them to start audibly whining and throwing a fit making him give them a look, "It's okay, they can cuddle with me" I counter.
Realising I wasn't going to let the argument go, East places the kids on either side of them as they cuddle up to me rubbing on my belling causing everyone to coo, "What's this mommy?" Kai asks pointing at the band wrapped around my midsection. "It's to make sure sissy it's okay, you wanna hear her heartbeat" I ask causing her to nod excitedly just as the nurse comes in to check me out before doing an ultrasound, "Baby" Yo exclaims making us all laugh.
"Yeah, papa that's baby" I say as a feeling of relief runs through my body hearing my baby's heartbeat, "No crying mommy" Kai whispers wiping away my tears causing me to kiss her forehead before turning to do the same to Yosohn.
(Translation: Oh mi pobre bebé, dame un beso - Oh my poor baby, give me a kiss Estoy bien mami, lo prometo, deja de llorar - I'm okay mommy, I promise, stop crying)
