"Aight, we're going to the hospital, let's go" East said with finality in his tone letting her know there's no room for arguing with him. Standing up from the bed, Mia almost toppled over as a sharp pain caused her whole belly to tighten, "Fuck I think she's coming" Mia stated in a shaky voice.
A wave of pressure surrounded her lower regions causing her to lean forward as she grunted feeling herself push just as the pressure between her legs increased. "Yoh I'm going to go get the hospital bag and we're leaving" East assured just as Mia let out a scream, "It's too late, I can feel her head now."
"Okay sir, I'll be on the line until the paramedics come until then follow my instructions" The 911 operator said in a calm voice which was the opposite of what was going on in Mia's bedroom. Once they both realized that they would not make it to the hospital in time, East dialed 911 to request paramedics be sent to Mia's apartment.
Following the 911 operator's instructions, he laid out a clean towel for her on the floor, helped her out of her pajama pants and laid her down with her feet propped. Nothing could've prepared him for this outcome yet here he was crouched in front of the mother of his child, watching as his youngest slowly but surely made her way into the world.
A shrill screech sounded from Mia as the pain and pressure between her legs increased, "I see hair, I see a lot of hair" East exclaimed with tears in his eyes. "That's great, it means she's crowning and the baby is about to make her appearance" the 911 operator confirms sending Mia into a frenzy as the reality of everything dawns on her.
"No, no this isn't how this was supposed to go, I can't have her here and I won't have her here" Mia says shaking her head trying to sit up just as she contracts making her cry out in pain. "Stop ma, I know this isn't what you wanted but it's happening and we're about to meet our princess. I need you to trust me okay?" East affirms cradling her head helping her to lay down.
