Their eyes met and her hand that was about to reach for the mug paused. They both exchanged glares for a few seconds before Tasha broke the tension when she felt she couldn't take it any longer. She was about to grab her cup when he beat her to it.

Staring deeply into her ocean blue eyes, his gaze scrutinized her and Tasha started to get scared as she couldn't help but feel like a prey, being watched by the hunter. She swallowed the lump in her throat and tried to remind him that he was actually crossing the line, but when she got no response from him (whatsoever) she shut her mouth.

When she saw him moving forward, she took two steps back, but that didn't stop him as he kept following her, eventually she backed into a wall and stopped moving.

She saw him reach out to grab something, and she tried to follow his hand with her eyes but was jolted back when he sharply called her name.

"Tasha!" she was clueless over whether or not to answer when he called her again.

"Tasha, right that's your name" He continued as he kept staring at her. For the umpteenth time, Tasha swallowed again, trying hard to focus. But she just couldn't bring herself to.

To be honest who could focus with such an attractive face standing right in front of you? She stared at the floor instead, anything other than having to look in his hazel eyes was much welcomed.

Lucas saw that he wasn't getting the attention he needed, he stopped glaring at her and moved a step backward. His goal was to make her fear him, and he wasn't letting her go without impaling that into her.

His gaze caught a sharp object in the rack, and he casually went to get it, he lifted it and played with it and twirled it with his fingers before pointing the tip to Tasha. Tasha, who didn't notice that a knife was being pointed to her throat, still had her eyes on the ground, carefully counting the tiles.

She heard him clear his throat and looked up, when she saw the tip inches away from her throat, she quivered trying her best to stay on her feet. Or at least that was the expression she tried to portray.

"Is he going to kill me? Oh my God, is this the end?" ridiculous thoughts started floating in her head. She tried to convince herself that he wouldn't do anything to her, but when she remembered that the two of them were the only ones in this house, she shivered. What if? She couldn't even think properly as she broke out in a cold sweat.

She started wondering how many maids had actually worked for him before. Since her room looked like it had just been refurbished before she moved in, she couldn't help but think someone else might have stayed there before. She was sure the property had existed for a very long time.

But why was he locked up alone in this huge mansion? At first, she was curious about it when she first moved in but told herself it was none of her business.

Now with a knife to her throat, she could no longer control her thoughts. The 'weak rabbit' move she pulled off when she just moved in was all an act. In fact, she wasn't scared, she was just wondering how high the probability of him killing her was.

Her mind told her he wasn't going to do anything but was probably infuriated by her bold actions today, although she was successful on her mission, it was only the first stage, and she hadn't expected him to pull the extreme. This wasn't part of her plans.

Suddenly something clicked in her mind, and she pretended to shiver. A tear rolled down her cheeks and after that came more, she started bawling her eyes out as if she was truly afraid. When she saw Lucas smirk, she knew she had achieved her aim of portraying herself as a weak rabbit once again.

What was his deal with knives though? She remembered he had pointed a knife to her throat the first time she came too. Had he really killed anyone with it? She knew she was going to have to keep her questions for later.

"You and me, are the only ones in this house. Ooh! and the butler who comes once in a month, the maids once in a week. I can't help but wonder how many days it will take" He leaned in her ears before whispering, "for someone to discover your corpse"

Tasha shook as she heard the last sentence, she stared wide-eyed, pretending to be terrified when in truth she was only trying to know whether he had actually killed anyone before. If that was true, then he was truly dangerous.

As if taking his bait, she wailed more before pleading.

"Please don't kill me! Don't kill me! I'll do anything, please don't I ilk" she managed to let her words come out in a stutter and his smirk grew wider.

He walked away from her and flicked the knife before putting it back in its original spot.

"Simple." He sighed heavily before washing his hands. After wiping it with a napkin, he turned to walk out, but not before uttering in a faint voice.

"Do not cross my path" the threat really strike a chord in Tasha's heart, and she put it to mind. Since they were going to live together for a year, then she had to at least learn to coexist peacefully with him.

Watching his retreating back, she heaved a sigh and her tired body slid down the wall. She sat on her butt as her mind wandered.

Only after a few minutes did she finally get herself together, and she stood up to leave since she had already lost the appetite to eat.

At noon, she started feeling uncomfortable and her stomach started aching, and she found it hard to move, so she just lay down on her back and endured the pain.

However, it only increased in intensity. When she could no longer take it, she moaned in pain and clutched her stomach, it was her time of the month already.

She had been advised by her doctor to watch what she ate and eat less junk foods, and because she had stuffed a lot of it at once yesterday, she had to face the aftermath now, and she could swear her menstrual pain had never been this painful since she started having it.

Gritting her teeth, she tried so hard not to cry, although she was sure she could break down anytime soon. There was no one to care for her and her room was very far from Lucas, although she knew he wouldn't help even if they shared a room.

Thankfully, she still had a lot of painkillers that her doctor had prescribed. She struggles to get to her feet, before digging it from her wardrobe. Hastily, she poured it down her throat and swallowed it with water before making her way back to the bed, hoping she doesn't die before the day comes to an end.
