I wanted to know everything but knew I probably would never get all the answers. Even so I was happy whenever he did answer my questions, which there was only one question he avoided, everyday I would ask what his real name is and he would always tell me to ask a different question. I didn't question it and just asked another question, but it only made me more curious

"Can you at least stay up here or something?" I sighed heavily and Masky simply crossed his arms, I groaned knowing I wasn't going to win this, he was more stubborn than a mule and refused to do anything I was asking him to do. My friend Pam and her new girlfriend Jess were supposed to be coming over for a movie night like Pam and I did in college, but Masky was refusing to either leave or be confined to my room

"Please? I don't want them questioning why there's a strange masked man in my house!" I groaned and rubbed my temple, he simply shrugged and sat down on the couch, I knew I wasn't going to win so I just gave up and headed to the kitchen to make popcorn and gather snacks and drinks. I would just have to come up with a lie to explain the mask, growing up with a strict mother I'd learned to lie extremely well, with a simple effortless lie I could convince anyone of anything, it was a good skill to have

I sighed as I hopped up onto the island, I crossed my legs and laid my hands in my lap, I looked over at the clock and watched it tick as the popcorn popped in the background, this felt familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. The popcorn was finished so I emptied it into large bowls, I grabbed the bags of Reese's peanut butter cup, skittles and M&M's that I'd bought earlier today and headed to the living room, I set everything down on the coffee table and turned to Masky

"Do you think you could at least take the mask off?" I sighed as I stood up, he looked at me seemingly pondering my question for quite a while, "You realize what I'll have to do if anything goes wrong, right?" His tone was serious and sharp and the realization of what he meant sent shivers down my spine, I hung my head before responding "Yeah, I know.." I started fidgeting with my hands as Masky sighed

He took his mask off and set it beside him on the couch "Fine." He laid his head back and I made my way back to the kitchen to get the drinks. I grabbed the bottles of root beer and made my way back to the living room as the doorbell rang, I set the bottles down and rushed to the door opening it with a smile, Pam had a huge smile on her face when she saw me "Hey bestie!" She threw her arms up, Jess simply waved with a shy smile as she hid behind Pam

I giggled and stepped aside so they could step inside, "It's nice to see you're cheerful as ever." I said to Pam as they kicked their shoes off "Of course! I have no reason not to be!" Pam was a very loud, rambunctious, cheerful person, but she had been my best friend for years and I wouldn't trade her for the world

The three of us made our way to the living room where Masky sat, Pam immediately stopped when she noticed him and I smiled nervously, she looked over at me with a skeptical look "Who's that? You never mentioned them." She crossed her arms and I just gulped, I opened my mouth to speak but before I could, Masky turned his head to her with a smile "They didn't mention me cuz they didn't know I was coming. Their boyfriend, call me Mason." He waved and Pam turned to me with a huge grin "Boyfriend, huh?" I was too stunned to respond, he lied like it was the truth

She giggled and practically dragged Jess with her towards Masky, she started asking him a ton of questions and he answered then with ease, it was like lying was second nature for him. I just stood in the living room doorway too stunned to move or say anything, he became more and more interesting and my curiosity grew with every word that left his lips

I shook my head and joined them, Masky grabbed my wrist gently and tugged down gesturing for me to sit next to him, I sat down and he draped his arm over my shoulder, Pam watched us with a big grin as she turned the TV on and turned on Netflix. I was already regretting them meeting Masky because I knew I'd never live this moment down, though I had to admit it was kind of nice

Pam turned on a movie called "Before I Wake" and I groaned "Dude, you hate scary movies." I turned to her, she shrugged and smiled before sitting and setting Jess in her lap. I sighed and turned to Masky who was focused on the TV, I smiled to myself and turned back to the TV

---------------

We'd just got done watching three movies, Jess was still stuffing her face obviously stress eating, Pam was thoroughly freaked out and Masky was somehow asleep, I sighed and stood up "We should call it a night, it's already 11 pm." I smiled over at Pam who nodded in agreement "Is it ok if me and Jess take the guest room?" Pam wrapped her arms around Jess who had only just now stopped eating "I don't see why not." I shrugged

Masky usually went home before midnight anyways so it wasn't like he'd be using it. Pam and Jess made their way to the guest room leaving me to clean up, I groaned as I placed the empty soda bottles in the empty bowl, I went to pick up the bowl but before I could somebody else grabbed it and I looked up to see Masky, I smiled and grabbed the half empty bags of sweets before we both made our way to the kitchen

"So Masky" I put the bags on top of the fridge and turned to him, he looked over at me and hummed, "I'm once again going to ask for your name." I leaned against the fridge with a smile, I doubted I would get it but I was still hopeful, he sighed and leaned against the sink with a grin "Persistent as always..." He looked down in thought before nodding and looking up at me "Tim, my name is Tim." I gave him a skeptical look and he chuckled "It's my real name, I promise." I nodded with a smile and stood up straight

We made our way upstairs to my room and he left the way he always did, through my window. I laid down on my bed with a heavy sigh, today had been a pretty good day and I couldn't help but smile while replaying earlier events, I hadn't remembered the last time I felt that relaxed let alone happy
