Sunset eclipse

I kissed the scars on her wrist
She was always beautiful
And will always be beautiful
She spoke of pain
Pain from her dad
His fist like iron
Bruising her body
Bruising her soul
Her eyes weeped tears
Tears about going home
About the vastness of her sorrow,
Her eyes an eclipse
Sorrow about whatever happiness was left
Colliding in the air like a bird hitting glass
Her voice said to me
"I'm happy you are here with me"
in a shaky voice
The next day I didn't see her
The day after
The day after that
Until I recurved a phone call
It was her mom
She told me words that hit like shard of glass
"She cut herself to deep"
She continues
"She bled out before we got home"
Her scars were beautiful
But even beauty brings pain
The eclipse blinded her
