it was forever seeking her out
greeted her with a smile
promised her happiness
in exchange for nothing
it was undemanding
that's what made it so appealing
it took all the pain away in a matter of seconds
but it seemed so straightforward
its actually really simple,
it takes happiness in the misfortune of others
