prayer in open d

there's a valley of sorrow in my soul
and you made sure of it, letting taunting words of wine seep through my blood.
there is a shadow that follows me in my sleep, the figure looks awfully like you. almost like you never left me, like how the cold never truly leaves.

there's a river of darkness in my blood
from the spoiled, rotten wine that you poured in my mouth. it's toxic tint has been drinking my sorrowful soul slowly, i wouldn't be surprised if it's empty soon.
when my eyes become heavy with dreams, the shadow figure appears again and it reminds me too much of you.

there's a highway risin' from my dreams
deep in the heart i know it gleams,
the thunder that rings through the cold wakes me into the distant reality,
and the shadow (you) is gone, again.

beyond the river and the flood
there is a valley full of my blood
the old, spit out wine that you had emptied in my soul had hallowed out my milk stained bones,
maybe my hands will be next so i don't have to throttle myself anymore,
can the shadow show me the valley?
someday I know it will lead me home.
