It all started when Jim Kirk said 'Lets hit the road.'
Spock questioned this. "Why would we 'hit the road?' There isn't a road to hit. Anyway if there was, would just walk into the middle and hit it?"
Everyone laughed at this. Spock failed to see what was so amusing. You decided to take him back to your room and try to explain. He may be extremely intelligent, but sometimes, with human idioms, he fails to see it.
"Now Spock," you start. "You know what an idiom is. It's something not to be taken literally, right? When someone says 'let's hit the road.' It means 'lets go'"
He nods. "This is the easiest thing for me to comprehend. I understand what it is, but sometimes you humans are confusing. Why are you happy over a new child? Or why do you use sarcasm? I don't see a point in it. It doesn't do anything."
"Yes, but we are human and use emotion and sarcasm."
He still looks as though human emotions baffle him.
"Some day, Spock, you'll understand. And maybe then we can make a human of you!" You tell him.
"I hope not." He replies.
