"I fucked up..." Was the first thing he said after sitting in silence for a good minute. Furrowing her eyebrows, Rose looked up from her crossword book to glance around the living room that only held the 2 of them and Skyla. Letting her know that he was indeed speaking to her.
"Um...okay? What are you talking about?" She lowered the book to sit next to her while looking at her son a little concerned. She could see in his face nothing but hurt, something she hadn't seen in a while considering he had been so happy and bright since she got home.
"A couple days ago, it was revealed to me that there was a possibility another woman had a child that is mine. The boy is 5 years old, but I kind of brushed it off and didn't think too much on it after the initial reaction I had to the information. But it was only after this morning when I got the results back from another DNA test that I took where the reality set in. I made eye contact with that 99.9%, I read that shit over so many times hoping I was dreaming or it was some bullshit...but it wasn't." He squeezed his eyes shut, running both his hands down his face while letting out a harsh breath.
Blinking slowly, Rose crossed her legs over one another with her eyes never leaving those of Cepheus. "So you're telling me...that you have another confirmed child outside of your relationship right now? Was this child conceived while you were still with Cassia?" Shaking his head no, Cepheus leaned back with his hand propping his head up.
"No, it was conceived while we were broken up for the first official time. But that doesn't matter, because it won't change the reaction she's going to have when I do end up sitting down and telling her tonight-."
"Tonight?! Well have you at least planned and figured out how you want to do it? Because baby this isn't something light, and this isn't something you should expect her to take lightly. Especially not after the hell you've already put her through, and then when she finally feels as though the relationship is progressing, you're gearing up to drop this bomb on her? Cepheus why weren't you being careful in the first place, why even make yourself this accessible to the point where anybody could be walking around claiming babies by you?" Blowing a breath out, he didn't say anything because he didn't know what to say.
"I don't know, but momma you really don't understand how deep my feelings go for that girl. I'll give limbs for her, on God I will." He spoke in all seriousness, causing Rose to place a hand to her heart. Although she had been back for a little bit of time, she payed a lot of attention to Cepheus and Cassia's relationship, and couldn't help but to admire it dearly.
She had never seen her son so happy and so vibrant. The way his eyes lit up every single time Cassia walked into the room, the smile that always crept on his face when he talked about her, the little nervous fidget he did when she looked at him, Rose noticed it all. She didn't comment on it, but she was definitely watching all the time.
