Squid Game - A guards POV

Chapter 1: The Choice

I had woken up, done my hair and head to the shop with the last bit of money I earned. Going to the shop, I had noticed a man in a suit at the subway, he was holding a bag begging people who was walking by him to play a game with him. I was tempted but went on with my day, I bought the food I needed and went home.

The next day, I was already out the house and strolling through the streets. I went to the subway to go to work as usual on a Monday, I got on the train and noticed the man again, he didn't even look like he moved from that bench. I went to work and came back tired, the man was still there, I looked at him with curiosity and slightly waved smiling at him. He waved back and kept begging, I walked over to him to greet him and he greeted me back.

"Do you want to play my game?" He asked

"Depends what kind" I replied

"What if I told you this game could win you £4.56B?"

I gasped and hen he ended it with a billion, I was so tempted I didn't even think and soon agreed.

"Pick a colour, Red or Blue?"

I thought to myself, Blue or Red..., my thoughts where soon interrupted when he said.

"You know...blue is a high recommendation, everyone chooses blue."

"Well..what does blue mean?" I asked curious

"You cannot be told that by me, you will find out when you enter the game. Now, red or blue?"

I thought once more, let's try..red!, I looked up at him and pointed to the red envelope.

"Heh good choice, now, meet me again tomorrow same time same place for the game"

The mysterious man got up and left in silence, I also got up and went home thinking of what was ahead for me. I just have to see him tomorrow for the game...that's all, I went to bed and wondered for a few minutes on what the game could be and what the colours meant, my thoughts where soon broken again by me dozing off to a deep sleep.
