As I was reviewing all of my old chapters I noticed something in the very first one. Aside from the terrible grammar, misspellings and frankly sentences that were incomplete, I noticed something that was even worse.
In a certain part towards the end Janai was listing some facts as to why they ( her and Amaya) couldn't be together. One of which was because they were both women, sadly it was meant in a negative way. I felt so ashamed and shocked at myself when I read that.
I'm not making any excuses but I would like to apologize for hurting the LGBTQ community which I am a part of.
When I wrote this it was during a time of self discovery along with internalized homophobia towards myself. I am extremely sorry if that has affected anyone who has been reading my story in a negative way.
I have grown but that does not excuse my mistake. I can only hope you can forgive my apology. I'm still currently editing all of the other chapters, but if there is something in a certain chapter that has offended anyone or has been harmful to anyone please bring it to my attention immediately.
