        Why does the walk to my apartment feel so long.

With every step my chest begins to hurt a little more, then the door finally appeared to me. My fingers felt so numb I ended up fumbling with my keys.

"Are you ok Bellá?" I felt Hunter's hand fall on my shoulder , a wave of relaxation ran over me. "Yeah...."

I opened the door and the warmth of the apartment surrounded me. "Sky!" I looked up from the floor and Jason's arms were around me.

"I thought something happened to you.." my feet are off the ground because Jason decided to spin me like nothing ever happened .

When my feet were safely on the ground again I was facing Hunter but Jason's standing between us , gaping at me as though I had been an hour late from school or something and not like he remembered what he did.

"I'm fine --@LIE@-- Hunter took care of me" I pointed in Hunter's direction sneaking a glance at him , and smiling a little as last night's events replayed in my mind.

Jason, out of no where, swung his body to the side to look at Hunter with a look on his face I had never seen.

"Can I help --you with something Gunter?" What the hell! Just as Jason turned around and started to speak he froze between his words as if he were staring at a ghost , but the look only lasted a second , if I wasn't paying attention I would have missed it .

Remembering what he had said , I came back to my senses. Where did that come from. "No you can't . I'm here for Skylar.....I have no business with you. And my name.....is Hunter, but you seem a bit....slow.....so I will let that one slide." @OH SHIT!@ Wooooah.

"I've met guys like you......and sky can do so much better." Say what!

My eyes shot up and my jaw hit the floor. I looked to Hunter to see what he would do. I realized immediately that his hand flexed to a fist and spread once more. His body is tense and he locked his jaw, as though he is hitting back his anger . My body began to react before my brain could talk me out of it.

In a matter of seconds I was in front of Hunter with my hands holding his and my eyes diving into the gorgeous green orbs that he looks at me with. "Please don't hit him."

My whisper was faint but luckily he heard, "I would never disrespect you or your home like that. I will leave that mistake to your friend over there."

My hand covered my mouth , I have no reaction , none at all .

I quickly shook my head and turned to Jason. "Jason.....I don't appreciate what you said . Hunter is my friend.....and when you decided to be a dick.....he was there for me. And FYI , I have the best, it's Hunter who can do better. Now if you'll excuse me I have to get to school. Hunter....will you carry me?"

I turned to Hunter who's standing leaning on the wall by the door, "I'd be honoured" I nodded to him when I heard an 'ugh' noise come from behind me.

"Do you have something to say Jason?" I turned on the ball of my foot to face Jason, who is now walking away from the conversation.

"Look....I just don't get why you would want to be around this Jackass! I mean , come onnn Skylar, I thought you had at least a little more taste and class than to want this bastard"

My jaw dropped and my eyes began to burn. Why is he doing this , who the hell does he think he is . I closed my eyes trying to contain my anger and to recover my words. "Ja " --"Hey!-- Hunter stepped in front of me cutting me off-- I don't like the way you're speaking to Sky , disrespect may be ok for you but it's not for me. Skylar....if you would like you can stay with me. I don't feel comfortable with you here."

Hunter didn't look back at me , he just stood in front of me scanning Jason very carefully . He looked as though he was ready to grad me and run if Jason moved.

"Oh please! Look man.....Skylar isn't like the slugs you've dated before alright....I think she has a little more class than that. Unless.....she does like you....then" --"Stop. Stop right fucking there-- before I knew it my words were out and my face was screwed , What was he about to say, could he be that stupid.....Again! I have had enough of his immature behaviour. Enough us enough.-- You listen to me alright. I am 22 years old, 23 in 3 days. I can't date whoever I want, ok" --"we're dating?"-- for two seconds my anger subsided and a smile caught me off guard.

"Actually....Yeah we are. You made me feel beautiful again, just within the two days  you've known me. So yeah...we are."

I smiled at Hunter and saw the happiest smile spread across his gorgeous face.

"Oh god! Cry me a river. I was there for you since we were in pull-ups, and you didn't come gauging at me."

My rage returned and I could feel the flames burning through my face. How DARE He!

"You!......huh......don't even get me started on you. For the years you have been my friend you never hurt me.....not as bad as you hurt me the day you practically , out-front called me a whore. That.....that stung, and the cherry on top , was you actually having the audacity to say that I have no class. Jason...I love you to bits, but this.....this person who's hurting like this.....it just isn't the Jason I grew up with ."

I could hear my voice beginning to change, I tilted my head back to let the tears run back , and bit my lip. The pain is sinking in deeper and deeper, it hurts to just think about it.

Then Hunter's warm hand clasped my shoulder and gave me a gentle squeeze. I felt safe again, as cheesy as that sounds, but I can't stay with Jason....I don't know what got into him but it's upsetting me deeply.

"Look Jay. I'm going to stay with Hunter for a while --by the way Hunter I wanna stay with you. Back to you Jay, when you loose the bad attitude and become my bestfriend again let me know. "

I turned away from them both and headed for my room , I opened door and slammed it back .

My room feels so cozy and welcoming. My bed just looks so.....loving right now. And before I knew it , I was snuggling down with my pillow. 'Wait, did I lock the door?......yess' , I know I have scholars but right now....what I need is sleep.
