On the Beybattling cruise ship, you helped give out lunches and snacks as part of the staff, and Anges daughter. When you first saw the tall, bulky male, to say less you were a bit squeamish.

He was so... Tall and you were just you.

He towered over you every day and you nervously handed him his lunch, uttering soft words under your breath he almost never heard correctly or at all. He was confused. You acted to shy around him, but with others you were so energetic and happy.

"What was that?"

"O-Oh... Um I said have a good lunch."

"Ah." He nodded his head, "You have a good day." He said, bidding himself a farewell and heading out to sit with Aiger, Fubuki, and Suoh. You watched him munch on his food and spaced out. You wished you could talk to him, you were just so... Shy.

"Uh? Hello ma'am are you okay?"

Xavier stood in front of you, also waiting for his meal. Startled, you squeaked, a blush forming on your cheeks as you gently handed the boy his lunch. Glancing to where you were looking, Xavier chuckled.

"You know," He leaned in slightly to whisper,

"Despite HaeJin's appearance, he's actually very friendly. He won't mind if you want to talk to him." The Prince sent you a wink before walking off with his lunch in hand.

Watching him walk off, you handed out lunches to the rest of the bey cruise members and headed over, crossing your arms behind your back.

At the moment, HaeJin was leaned over the side of the boat, in thought.

"Um... Hello."

"Ah." He jumped slightly, before turning to meet your gaze. "Hello. (Y/n), right?"

"Yeah. That's right!" You smiled, relaxing slightly. Maybe Xavier was right, he's not so bad. "Did you need something?" HaeJin's voice brought you back from your thoughts and you looked up at him.

HaeJin was taken aback by the determination that settled on your face,

"I-... I just wanted to... To say I think your a really strong t-talented blader!"

"Thank you. I've been practicing a lot recently. And I hope it's enough to beat these guys. At first glance I thought it would be a breeze. But... It's proven to be a bit harder than I thought. Your strong words of encouragement have been taken to heart." He formed a fist, pressing it up against his chest while looking down at you.

In return, you offered him a smile, a brush rising to your cheeks.

Admiration.

That's what he saw in your eyes, he realized, as you walked away, clumsily tripping over your own two feet. A feeling rose in his chest as he looked at you, a grin spreading across his face and warmth spreading throughout his body.

"I'd like to talk to you again."

"Hello (Y/n)."

You opened the door to your bedroom more after hearing his voice, offering to let him enter. Over the few days you've known each other, you've grown closer than you'd like to admit. And you were also terrified of loosing him if he lost the match.

"Hey, Jin-Jin." You murmured softly, closing the door behind him. You both sat on your bed, staring at the wall for a minute.

"I'm scared of you loosening the next match."

"Give me your phone number in case I loose the next match."

You spoke it at the same time, but understood one another either way. With a smile and a nod you grabbed a piece of paper and a pen, scribbling down your phone number.

"Here. Please don't loose it." You handed the slip of paper to him, and he tucked it away in his pants pocket. "I won't. I promise."

Thankfully, you had given him your phone number, because the next day, he lost his match.

You waved him goodbye as he left the cruise ship on the helicopter. "I'll call you, (Y/n)!" He yelled, and you nodded. "Bye Jin-Jin!"

Two months later

"No I do believe I'm better than you." You teased the male through the phone. "In which way?" He hummed, phone pressed between his shoulder and ear. He pulled his rip cord, launching his bey into the stadium.

"Hey, your still on board about coming down, right?" You hummed, "Yeah. My mom already agreed to it, I can't believe I'm going to be flying overseas tomorrow to see you. It's been two months. And it feels like forever!" You exclaimed, throwing yourself back on your bed after packing your suitcase.

"Yes, but you'll be staying with me for a week and a half. We have plenty of time to make more memories." HaeJin reminded.

"Yeah yeah. I know. I'm gonna gang up Noe and get plenty of rest for tomorrow! Bye Jin-Jin!"

"Good bye, (L/n)."

When you both confessed was at the lagoon. You both sat side by side. A noticeable height difference, but you didn't mind.

"I love you.'

"Huh?"

"I love you." HaeJin looked over at you, repeating himself.

"Me?" You choked out, pointing at yourself in utter surprise. You were shocked to say the least. Someone as cool as him loved you.

"Do you love me?" HaeJin asked, raising an eyebrow.

A smile slipped across your face, cheeks getting redder by the second. "Yes, I do love you, Jin-Jin."

"As more than friends?" He asked.

"Yes! As more than friends." You confirmed, a twinkle shining in your eyes.

"Good."

His arm wrapped around your waist and he pulled you closer to him, staring out into the lagoon. The water sparkled back up at the two of you.

"So... Wanna go have an ice cream date?"

You looked over at him, surprised.

"Do you even know what your saying? Of course that's a yes. I live me and my ice cream." You chirped, shaking his shoulders.

"Ah. I see."

"Can you stop saying Ah? You sound like the Walmart version of Jesus."
