It was early in the day, though it seemed like he slept often, he trained just as much as he slept. Free pulled his ripcord, watching Fafnir spin in the middle of the stadium. Finals were approaching quickly, and many strong bladers have emerged all across the world.
Though he wasn't the strongest blader anymore, he worked hard to maintain the upper ranks. He was zoned into what he was doing, and you on the other hand, where quite curious.
You, were a faun.
He was a human.
You had heard of humans before. They hunted your kind. So, you stayed away. But you could never fight the curiosity that bloomed in your chest and shot through your veins. Besides, it's been hundreds of years since a faun ever came in contact with a human. And humans change,
... Right?
The Bush behind him stirred, and Free turned, dead in the eyes with a blank face. He was astonished. "A... Deer human?" He questioned, voice laced with laziness and exhaustion.
The icy adrenaline ran through your veins with being caught, and you scurried backwards. With every step you reeled back, he stepped forwards. When your back hit the rough texture of the tree behind you, you screamed.
Free knelt in front of you, hand reaching out to grab onto one of your long, fluffy ears. He felt them, humming with interest.
"Stop squealing. What's your name?"
He murmured, pulling back, "Im Free. Free Dela Hoya."
He introduced himself casually, sitting on the ground in front of you. Fafnir was left to spin in the stadium behind you both.
"Don't be shy." He encouraged, bluntly. "Just tell me your name. Can you speak?"
"(Y-Y/n)." You murmured, "(Y/n), (L/n)."
"There we go. Wasn't so hard, now was it?" He reached up, running a hand through his messy, unkept hair. His eyes closed and his body relaxed. The veins that were prominent in his arms and on his face when he was training was gone, and he looked approachable.
Cute. You had thought, reaching out with a feathery light touch, you grabbed onto the longer part of the red streak in his hair. He opened his eyes back up again, eyebrows furrowing.
Cute. He had thought, this time. You were cute.
"Never seen the color red in someone's hair before?" He questioned, tilting his head to the side.
You shook your head, confirming his question.
He glanced down at your clothes, worn down and holey. "Do you have a home?" He hadn't meant for the question to sound so rude, but it was just the way it came out, added along with the blunt texture in his voice.
He pursed his lips when you shook your head.
"Do you have a family?"
