Chapter 19: Traitor

"Y/N?"

I slowly opened my eyes when I felt someone's hands gently carressing my face. My vision is blur but I can see that a familiar woman is smiling at me. I closed my eyes and opened it again. When my vision became clear, my eyes started to form tears because of the woman in front of me.

"Mother..." I immediately sat up and hugged her tight.

She chuckled and hugged me back.

"Look at you. You've grown so much."

I started crying like a baby while hugging my mother. I can't believe she's here and talking to me. I can't believe we're together again.

"Why are you crying? You're a lady now. Crying like a baby doesn't suit you."

She chuckled again and carressed my hair.

I let go of her and cupped her face. She hasn't change. She still looks the same. Her bright-hazel eyes, black hair tied in a loose ponytail, and even her clothes. She's still the same.

"Mother...Why are you here?"

She smiled and held my hands that's cupping her face.

"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that?" She said which made me furrow my brows.

"What do you mean?" I said.

I roamed my eyes around the place. My eyes widened when I saw that we are in the middle of nowhere. Bright white light are surrounding us but the above is dark.

"Where are we?" I asked.

Mother sighed.

"You shouldn't be here, Y/N. Do you want to leave your brother and friends? So why did you come here?"

"This is the place where I went after
I died, Y/N. You can't be here. You should stay alive. For yourself and for the people you love. It's not yet your time."

My hands on her face fell. She smiled at me and wiped my tears. Her eyes became glossy as she stares at me.
"I miss you, my daughter. I miss you and your brother." She said while staring at me.

"I'm sorry for leaving the two of you. My last moments, I didn't see you, only Eren and Mikasa. At that time, I wished you were there so I could say goodbye and see you for the last time. But I was also thankful that you weren't there because I know you will have a hard-time leaving me and watching me die. I'm sorry, Y/N. Forgive your mother, would you?"

My tears continue to fall from my eyes. "You didn't do anything wrong so stop apologizing. It...it's hurting me when you apologize for something you didn't even want."

She smiled and nod her head.

"Tell me, Y/N. Do you want to go with me or do you still want to stay with your brother and friends?"

I stopped crying and looked down.

What do I do?

I miss my mother. I want to be with her but if I stay here and go with her, I will have to leave Eren and my friends. And him. Levi. If I leave, he will be left alone again.

"You're having a hard time choosing, aren't you? Now let me help you." Mother smiled and put her hand on my heart.

"Follow your heart, Y/N. Your heart, there are people special in there right? Your friends and Eren. Maybe even someone special?" She smiled and slightly tapped my heart.
