Dance of the Fireflies

Synopsis: Shinobu finds Giyu in the most unexpected of places.

They're dating in this oneshot

Poor Shinobu, today just doesn't seem to be her day. The Butterfly Mansion had a lot more patients than usual, some of which were causing mayhem, probably the after effects of a Blood Demon Art most likely, and Kanao couldn't be there cause she was off on a mission. The worst part of Shinobu's day however, was that when she had to go on a mission, the demons that she was supposed to defeat had the audacity to flirt with her during the battle, like she's happily dating Giyu, thank you very much.

She made sure those demons suffered extremely during their final moments.

And now, with her mission being completed, she's heading off to her secret spot in a wisteria-laced forest to relax.

Except, when she got there she saw a very familiar half and half patterned haori sitting on a log, watching the fireflies float around with their pretty lights.

"Giyu?" She called out, "What are you doing here?" Giyu turned around and saw Shinobu standing before him. (Was almost tempted to write 'His beloved queen' for a quick second there, not gonna lie.)

"I'm just relaxing," he said, "What about you?" Shinobu then groaned and sat down beside him and rested her head on his shoulder, ready to rant about her day.

One Angry Rant Later~

"And that's all that went wrong today." Shinobu finished her rant with an exhausted sigh. Giyu then started rubbing her back and shoulder with his hand to try and make her feel relaxed and give her the silent message of 'I'm sorry your day felt awful, I hope my presence makes it a little better for you, my dear'.

Giyu then looked up to the starry sky above them, decorated with fireflies and suddenly had an idea. He lifted himself up and bowed to Shinobu with his hand out. "Would you like to dance with me, my dear?" He asked.

"Ara ara~, well aren't you being quite the charmer Giyu, why spring the question so suddenly?" Shinobu teased, Giyu in return answered, "Well, I thought that maybe you would forget your bad day if you danced with me." Shinobu just gave him a soft smile, wondering to herself how she managed to capture the heart of such a sweet guy.

"Alright," she began, "Lead the dance, darling" and held her hand with Giyu's outstretched one. Then they began to dance.

It started off simple, Giyu would lead Shinobu and she would follow. As they kept dancing, they decided to add a few more steps and Shinobu would lead Giyu for a bit, which Giyu had no objection to, since the woman before him had the charm to make him sway. Soon enough, they were lost in each other's eyes, and only had the other in their mind. The fireflies danced around them, almost encouraging the two keep dancing. The entire forest became an orchestra, giving the lovely couple the music of nature for them to dance to. They knew that they would have to stop sooner or later, but for the meantime, all they cared about was them and their dance with the fireflies.

✨Bonus Scene✨
"Kanao, could you go and look for Shinobu-Sama for me? I'm supposed to tell her about the medicine inventory today, but my hands are a little full to get her right now." Kanao flipped her coin and nodded. "Thanks Kanao," said Aoi, "She should be in her little grove for relaxing, ok?" Kanao nodded and then went off to find Shinobu.

When Kanao entered the grove, she found Shinobu cuddling with Giyu under a tree. Both of them sound asleep with small smiles on their faces. Kanao couldn't help but smile to herself and think 'I'm happy that you found someone to love, Shinobu Nee-san. You're not as filled with rage as you used to be. I hope the two of you will be happy together for the days to come.' She then left the two and went back to Aoi.

"Oh Kanao, where's Shinobu-Sama?" Aoi asked. Kanao flipped her coin again and said, "It's alright, she's just resting is all." Aoi sighed and said "Well, I suppose I could tell her about the inventory later." Kanao nodded and helped Aoi for the rest of the day since she didn't have any missions for today.
