POV: Station 19 - Season 5 Episode 4:

When Dean and Diane gather Station 19 and Station 23 together for Crisis One training, it doesn't go as planned. Diane immediately calls Andy and Sullivan up to role-play the marital dispute section. However, she has no idea that they are on the verge of a divorce. Maya calls Sullivan to head out on the call with her.

On the call, Maya and Sullivan find a very hungover man stuck in a dog door. The husband and wife bicker and fight as the firefighters get him out safely. The wife had never told her husband she wanted kids until last year. The couple airs their dirty laundry in front of the firefighters and touches on the relationship issues that both Maya and Sullivan have.

Maya comes home after shift to Carina who was getting ready to go to the hospital. It was always hard when their work schedules collided and they barely had any time together.

M: "Hello?"

Maya can hear her wife saying hi from the kitchen once she gets in. Carina is washing something in the sink so Maya walks up behind her, then wraps her arms around her and kisses her on the cheek making Carina smile and turn around to kiss Maya.

M: "When do you have to go?"

C: "Soon"

Maya looked down and Carina could tell by her body language that something was bothering her. She delicately lifts Maya's cheek again, making her look her in the eyes.

C: "How was work?"

M: "It was fine... I got pulled out of crisis one to go out on a call to help a hungover man stuck in a dog-door"

C: "A dog-door?"

M: "Yeah"

C: "Now that's something I've never heard before"

M: "Well, his wife definitely wasn't too happy about it"

C: "They fought while he was stuck in the dog door?"

M: "Oh yes, the dog-door actually seemed to escalate the fighting"

C: "Well, if you ever get stuck, I promise to not use it as an opportunity to ambush you"

M: "I wouldn't make that promise just yet if I were you, you'd probably think that she brought up some valid points"

C: "Oh yeah? Like what?"

Maya debated whether to bring up the kids-discussion again, but she decided to let it be for now. They were finally in a good place and it was pointless bringing it up right before Carina had to go to work anyway.

M: "...It was nothing... How about you? Did you get some sleep?"

C: "A few hours. I missed you though"

M: "You're not working this weekend right?"

C: "No, just today"

M: "So... maybe we could go somewhere?"

C: "Like the beach or..?"

M: "I was thinking more like the woods..."

She knew how her Italian wife felt about the great outdoors, there was a reason they hadn't gone camping before, but she thought it would be worth trying.

C: "The woods?"

Maya wasn't at all surprised by Carina's skeptical reaction, but she could be very persuasive when she wanted to so Carina eventually agreed.
