Monsters in the Shadows

Raven lick her lips staring at Shiratorizawa resident Guess Monster, Satori Tendo. "So. This is what you do you little freak." Raven mumbles to herself. To say Raven and Tendo don't get along was an understatement, they get along just fine if you ask either on. Raven just see Tendo as a thorn on her side. He can read player like a book, making him more like a parasite than a monster. He remind her of Kuroo in so many ways. A talented Guess Blocker is what Tendo really is.

Tendo smile as he bend back, "Man it feels like I'm playing at 120% today!" He says. Raven tsk, "I'm sure you do buddy." She mumbles. Takeda call a time out. Raven listen in as Ukai and Takeda discuss Tendo and how he block. "Ok, so how can were prevent him from readying our serves and sets?" Yamaguchi asked. "Maybe we should have Kageyama channel his inner Hinata and do some messy things." "I would love to see that" Tsukishima said back bluntly. 

The referee blew his whistle to start the set. "One more pretty serve pretty please!" Tendo shouts to Ohria who was serving this round. Kageyama knew what do in a time like this, Raven smirk as him and Hinata got the best of the so called Monster. "Pay attention home boy." She mumbles. Tendo glare over at Raven seeing her smirk but not hearing what she said. 'I was distracted.' Tendo thought still glaring at her.

It wasn't long before Karasuno and Shiratorizawa were tied in this match up. Even with Kageyama flawless serve Tendo still read the team like an open book. Raven along with everyone else was starting to get frustrated with the the Guessing Monster.

Raven let out a frustrating sigh when Ushijimia scored his team yet another point. Sitting on the bench wasn't as stressful as it was in the beginning for her. Watching Tsukishima running back in the game she hope he can at least get his head into the game. Leaning forward she watch as Tendo mock Tsukishima, "Look. It's Mister Vanilla." Tendo points to the tall beanpole. Raven let out a chuckle seeing Tsukishima face. "Don't let him get to you." Daichi warns. The whistle was blown, "Serve it up Taichi."

Raven watch the ball go in the air. Yu eyes widen seeing the ball in the air, 'It's going to fall.' He thought to himself. He hit the ball sliding on his stomach, "That's a chance ball! Chance Ball!" Taichi hollers to his team. "Damn it. Sorry Guys!" Yu apologizes.

Tendo went for a spike, 'Is he going for a lag attack?' Raven thought to herself. "OH!" Raven shouts seeing Tsukishima block Tendo faint. "Yowoo!" The team cheers along with Ukai and Takeda. Tsukishima walk over to the net staring down at a very confuse looking Tendo, "Hello. I'm mister Vanilla." Tsukishima start out. Raven let out a chuckle, "Your timed lag attack may have been able to trip up our feral child. But it won't work on me." Tsukishima warns. "Continue to use it though." Tendo clearly didn't like attitude, "And here I thought Karasuno first years were  just annoying little punks. But you really are a cut above the rest." Tendo sneers.

Tsukishima only smile sarcastically, "Why thank you." "YOU'RE PISSING ME OFF!" Tendo growls like the tall monster that he is.

Raven eyes shift when it was her boyfriend turn to serve. "Serve it up Asahi!" Tanaka shout. Raven watch the ball go over the net with batted breath, Shiratorizawa was ready. Tsukishima eyes watched everyone on the team body language. Tendo was in front, but at the last minute Ushijima was right in front of Tsukishima. Raven cringe when Tsukishima jump only for Ushijima power breaking his wall. Raven can start to see the frustration on Tsukishima face.

After a few rounds of the game Tendo randomly broke out into a song once Yamaguchi left the court. "Smash it, bash it into pieces. Smash Wha!? Their hearts into pieces." Raven couldn't handle anymore of his music and his dumb dance. From the corner of her eyes he was still swinging his skinny hips. Ukai lean over, "Specs" Takeda stood up calling another time out.

Raven was curious to what Ukai now has under his sleeves. "I know what you all are thinking. You hope to find a way to break threw their three way blocks, it will also boost morale too." Ukai start. "However don't get too far ahead of yourselves. I know the tighter the score, the more you're eager to finish the game in one shot. Which is not wise." Raven nod her head silently hanging back with her brother.

Ukai smirk turning to Raven, "Raven. You will be up this round." Yu and Tanaka cheers along with Daichi and Asahi. "Yeah! Here we go!" Yu cheers smiling at her. Raven smile back at him ruffling his hair. "Clam down little brother." Raven smirk. Tanaka came up next slapping her shoulder gently, "Come on! Let's show these Shiratorizawa what we can do!" The Nishinoya siblings smirk. "You know it." Both say. Daichi and Asahi sweat drop, "Are we sure they aren't twins?" Daichi ask quietly. Asahi only shook his head, "I'm starting to doubt."

 With more encouraging words Karasuno got it's second wind. "Hey guys." Tsukishima quickly say. Everyone turn around, "About the three man blocker. Leave the timing to me okay."

To say everyone was shock was an understatement. Raven especially, after their little disagreement during the summer camp she and Tuskishima quietly agreed to stay out of one another way. Raven still felt a little sore with Tsukishima, but even she can tell that something about this match is stiring something in him.

Raven got into position, "Give us a nice serve Goshiki" Ohria shout. Raven watch the ball go in the air, "Daichi!" Tanaka warns. Daichi received the ball like the boss he is. "Nice." Raven compliments. 'That first year isn't half bad.' Raven thought to herself, 'But. Still need more to learn.' She smirks.

Ushijima eyed Raven seeing her calculating eyes. That slight distraction caused Karasuno to score a point. It was Daichi turn to serve, "Hook us up with a nice serve Daichi!" Tanaka encourage. The whistle blew, the ball flew in the air. Shiratorizawa was doing a damn good job at keeping the ball in the air, Raven watch the ball carefully as it travels back and forward over the next. From one team to another, "One Touch!" Tsukishima shouts. Tanaka jump blocking the ball with one hand. "Yeah! That's how you do it bro!" Raven cheers. Tanaka rub his nose letting out a very cocky smirk.

Raven and Yu laugh, "That's it guys! Perfect timing!" Ukai shout from the sidelines. "Connect it now! Put it together!" Raven and Yu nod their heads knowing their role. Shiratorizawa scored the point, Raven eyed Tsukishima. "All you Taichi." Raven heard. Getting back to the game Raven felt pump. Tsukishima jump for the ball once it was serve, Tendo was all over him. Luckily Tsukishima got the best of the Guess Monster. Scoring Karasuno another point. 'Nice, aiming for the Center.' Raven nod her head in silent praise.

"Ushiwaka!" Ohria hollers. Raven eye Ushijima as he got into position. Asahi, Tsukishima, and Kageyama all got into blocking position. 'Ok Tsukishima.' Raven quietly said while carefully eyeing everything that was going down. Timing was everything, Raven watch as the boys kneeled waiting for Tsukishima. "On my mark. Ready." Raven heard Tsukishima, "NOW!" The boys jump blocking Ushijima spike. 

Ushijima realize his mistake too late. His only path was to the one person he didn't want to ever receive his ball. The ball flew pass Karasuno blockers heading straight towards Raven, clenching her teeth as the ball land on her arms hard and fast. Grunting the ball flew in the air, Ushijima glare at the female crow. Raven smirk back at him giving him a thumbs up and a big goofy grin as the whistle was blown and Karasuno score their point being tied with Shiratorizawa in the second set.
