That night, Harry was laying awake again.

It can't be fixed

He was sick, Brain-damaged and he couldn't control his own body.

His jaw hurt after clenching it for several minutes.

His head swung a bit and he bit his tongue.

Tears prickled out his eyes as he slowly managed to sleep with a taste of blood in his mouth.

————————

"Happy birthday too you, happy birthday too you, happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you!"

Was what Harry woke up by.

It was his birthday!

He couldn't remember too ever have been sung a birthday song.

*pop* he popped his lips and hit his knee.

He started blinking rapidly again.

Sirius saw and gave him a pitying look and handed him a present.

There was a small card attached,

Happy birthday, pup. Finally fourteen eh.

- uncle Padfoot and uncle Moony.

Harry read it and raised his eyebrows.

"padfoot and moony?" he asked. the couple looked at eachother with mischievous smiles.

"Nicknames from our school years." Remus explained with a sigh.

"The marauders?" Harry asked.

"How did you know about that?" Sirius asked, surprised.

"Hold on." His neck jerked forward as he got up and walked to the trunk that was standing in the corner of his small room.

He took out a piece of parchment and laid it in front of the two, he said the incantation and looked at them.

"No way." remus breathed.

"Thats.." sirius stopped.  "Where did you get that?!" He nearly shouted.

"The weasley twins gave it to me last autumn."  He said casually.

"The weasley twins?" Remus asked, remembering them from his year of teaching.

Harry shook his head,

"What?" Sirius asked, confused over harry switching from yes to no.

"Hm?" Harry questioned. "That wasn't intentionally."

The two of them made a noice of understanding.

"Now, open the present!"

Harry ripped of the paper like a toddler during Christmas.

Harry smiled a crooked smile when the insides revealed.

"Your mother wanted to give you that before your first year of Hogwarts."

It was a notebook.

He flipped to the first page.

First week,

Harry, you're exhausting me but i cant find it in me to blame you for my sleepless nights.

James does not agree tho, he loves you so, so much but hates being interrupted in his sleep.

Tho sometimes, when you wake us with you crying, he whispers that he'll take you so i can sleep.

The reason im writing this is so you can see what lead up to you being where you are now.

And even if we'll fight, or you'll think we're lame parents once you're a teenager, you'll always know that we love you unconditionally.

- Mum

A tear prickled out of his eye as he read, he met his uncles' eyes and smiled and scrunched his nose.

They chuckled a bit awkwardly.

"Cake?" Sirius asked.
