Kicked Out

I walked inside the house after a long day of school. I seen mom standing in the kitchen. I just came out as gay when I confessed my love to Mike at the hospital the other day.

"Hey mom?" 

"Yes Billie?"

"We need to talk..."

Mom looked up at me and waited for me to start speaking again. I felt like she already knew what I was going to say, and the look on her face didn't look to promising. I sighed 

"I like guys..." I say trying not to stutter 

"You like guys?" Mom said confused 

" I'm gay, mom" Mom gave me that same look and it didn't look too good 

Mom looked down and shook her head for no

"No son of mine is going to be gay"

Is this happening right now. Is she being serious?

"Who are you in love with anyway, Billie Joe?" she said in a serious tone

"I- This kid..."

she started to tap her fingers on the table. And again with that look, waiting for me to speak

"Okay fine! Mike Dirnt"

"Mike who?"

"I mean Micheal Pritchard" 

Shit...

"You know what Billie Joe.. I don't want to hear this bull crap any more"

She paused for a second 

"I want you out of my house"

I was packing my things, the few things that I had... I didn't have much but I had enough clothes and shit to keep me going. After I was done packing I looked back at my room which was no longer mine. I held back the tears. Well tried to at least 

I later found out that I was adopted. I didn't know my birth mother. I didn't know anything about her. so I wrote her this letter:

I put the letter in an envelope and set it on the counter. Forgetting that I was now living at Mike's house

"Hey Bill"

I had my head in my arms, I was sobbing uncontrollably. 

"want to get a bite to eat in town? That odda cheer you up"

I nodded my head for yes

We arrived at the near by dinner. My face was stained by the tears that ran down my face. We sat down at a table, a lady came to take our order

"Can I get you boys anything?"

"I'll just have a water, thanks" Mike said

"And could I get an ice cream Sunday" I say

"Sure thing"

"Hey Billie..."

"Yeah?"

"Did you actually mean it when you said I love you at the hospital?"

I looked at Mike confused for a sec

"Yeah? Of course I did" 

"And that's why you got kicked out? Was because you came out as gay?" 

"Mike what are you trying to say?"

"You didn't let me say that I love you after what I said"

"Well... do you?" I say with my baby eyes 

Mike smirked with a little laugh

"Yes"
