Hades' point of view

It had been weeks since that day in the West Wing. Weeks since my sweet Ella had become my Queen.

I had announced it to my people not long after she had agreed, but no one had met her yet. I had promised her a proper wedding, and I intended on keeping that promise after the war.

It may have only been a few weeks down in the Underworld, but months had passed on Earth. The silence from Kronos worried me.

I had called a meeting with the gods and they were due to arrive today. Our final preparations would be discussed and they would stay within the palace until the war began.

Apollo had arrived a few days ago and had already begun training my soldiers. Many of them were eager to learn from the blond-haired god.

They whispered in the fields of his power and fought with more haste when they noticed his eyes land on them. Their progress pleased me, but I desperately wanted to teach them.

I wanted to show them what their god could do; what he was capable of doing.

It had been centuries since they had seen me lose control and watched my obsidian fire burn. They had begun to forget the power I held within me. I held more power in my finger than Apollo or any of the other gods held in their entire existence.

However, I could not show them what I chained up within me, for I didn't even know what I was capable of. I had never once allowed the chains to snap off. The last time I lost control the chains began to crack but they did not break.

That is what worried me. What power would flow out of me if my century-old restraints gave out? If I lost focus for a mere second.

For now, all I could do was watch from within the palaces' walls as my soldiers trained with another god on my training field.

I sighed loudly at the thought but soon felt small gentle hands place themselves upon my back. Delicate fingers danced across my muscles as they found their way to my neck and began to massage gently.

"My love, shouldn't you still be asleep?" I asked.

My back still faced her as her tiny fingers loosened the stiff knots in my neck.

"I could feel your worry from our bedroom," She answered.

I smiled softly at her words, my eyes closing on their own accord. She had blossomed into her true self, a goddess.

She was able to feel the emotions of those around her and had a natural ability to control fertility.

I remember when the snow began to melt last week, she had run out excitingly and planted her bare feet upon the icy moist ground.

I had run out after her, about to scold her for being so silly. She could catch a cold with her bare feet out like that, dressed only in a long dress.

However, what shocked me most was not the melted ice or her bare feet but rather the delicate wildflowers that had begun to grow in her path.

Wherever she had walked, intricate pastel-coloured flowers had sprouted out of the stone-cold earth.

I stood there amazed, jaw hanging loosely as I watched her spin around in the half-melted snow. Her eyes closed, arms spread out wide and a large smile plastered on her face.

She didn't realise what she was doing or what was growing out of the ground from where she walked. She had always told me that Spring was her favourite season.

When she finally stopped spinning, from dizziness or because she could feel my staring I do not know, she stared at me in confusion.

"What's wrong Hades?" She had questioned me.
