There was a knock on your door.

"Lady [Y/N], you have a letter from the Lord Phantomhive." A maid said from the other side of the door. You grumbled your permission for her to enter and she did so, handing you the letter. You sat up as you rubbed your eyes, opening the letter.

Dear Lady [Y/N],

I would like to invite you over for tea this afternoon to apologize about the circumstances we met in. We are also having a ball tomorrow and it would be a pleasure if you came.

Earl Phantomhive

He got straight to the point. You grunted as you handed the letter back to the maid.

"Please tell the Lord Phantomhive that I am not feeling well and cannot attend tea at his manor." You said as you stretched. She bowed and walked out. You looked outside and didn't want to deal with today. It was going to be a long day. Everyone in the manor knew about your eyes so you didn't have to hide them at home, but it was when people came or you had to go somewhere where you had to remember which eye to hide. Luckily, you always hid the brown one. You wanted to seem like you have bright eyes, like Elizabeth. You got out of bed and got ready. You didn't ask for maids help when it came to getting ready, it still felt strange. You didn't feel like you belonged here, even though you lived with the Midford's for about 4 years. Even though you were a noble yourself. You took off the peach dress you forgot to take off before you went to sleep and put on a yellow dress. It was a few inches above your knees but you didn't care, it was a day to yourself. You brushed your hair, putting it up in a plait and letting both your eyes show. You put Elizabeth's dress back in her room, that's when you found your eye patch on her bed. You did have an eye patch, it was a purple one that you used when you were forced to have your hair up a certain way. It went missing a month ago. You picked it up and threw it on your bed in your room. You walked down the stairs and into the dining room.

"Ah Young Mistress, breakfast is almost ready. Please take a seat." The chef said, smiling. You sat down and a few minutes later a maid came out.

"Today we have blueberry pancakes or french toast. Which would you like?" The maid asked.

"Hm. Blueberry pancakes and orange juice please." You smiled as she bowed and went to get your breakfast. She came back and placed the plate and drink in front of you.

"It's lovely to see both your eyes Mistress." The maid said as she stepped back and let you eat. You smiled as you started eating. The Midford household were the only ones to compliment your eyes and that made you feel better about yourself. You finished eating and the maid took the dishes back into the kitchen. You got up and headed to the garden, smiling at all the gardeners and everyone you passed. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. It was rare that it wasn't raining in England. You walked past a rose bush. There were many rose bushes, all different colours. This one was white. You picked a white rose and put it in your hair, hoping the gardeners wouldn't mind. You smiled as you carried on walking down the path, watching butterflies flutter by, listening to the birds sing and the gardeners chit chat. You were about to sit under a tree when you heard a carriage coming towards the manor. You got a chair and stood on it, looking over the bush and looking at who was arriving. You thought maybe it was Aunt Red with Grell. It wasn't. The person driving the carriage was Sebastian. You groaned. Sebastian looked at you and you glared. He seemed shocked slightly but that only lasted a second before he looked away. You jumped off the chair and ran inside the manor and up to your room. It was too late to change your hair now so you got your eye patch and put it over your right eye. You fixed your hair a tiny bit where the strings of the eye patch messed with it. You looked in the mirror and smiled a fake smile. You got tissues and rubbed your nose a lot, making it red so it looked like you were sick. You walked down the stairs as the maid opened the door. Elizabeth ran in shouting for her mother.

"Lizzy, what are you doing back so early?" You asked as you sniffed, Elizabeth looked slightly worried.

"I was worried about you so I invited Ciel over for tea." She smiled. You smiled back and looked at Ciel and Sebastian walking in the manor.

"Young Mistress." Your butler called from behind you. You had a butler for yourself while Elizabeth had a maid for herself. You turned around and faced your butler. He had dark blonde hair and grey eyes. He was tall and his hair was styled slightly like Sebastian's.

"Yes Jack?" You asked as you smiled at him.

"It is your birth mothers birthday today. Do you wish to go and visit her grave today?" He asked. You looked at him slightly surprised.

"It is, isn't it. That would be very nice. We have to go buy her some tulips. They were her favourite flowers and a card." You smiled again as he bowed.

"I'll get a carriage." He said as he turned and left. You turned back to face Ciel and Sebastian.

"I apologize, I must've forgotten it was my birth mothers birthday today. I must show my respect. I apologize for the inconvenience but you weren't here for me anyway." You bowed slightly. You were about to go upstairs and put on your boots when Ciel spoke.

"Why do you wear an eye patch. You didn't wear one yesterday." Ciel questioned.

"You'll know in time." You bowed one last time as you walked up the stairs. Lizzy had left when Jack came along so Ciel and Sebastian shared looks. Once you came down Ciel, Sebastian and Lizzy were in the garden. You motioned for Jack that it was time to go and you both quietly left the manor and got in the carriage. Jack sat in front and off you both went, celebrating your birth mothers birthday.

"We are here Young Mistress." Jack said as he opened the carriage door, holding his hand out for you to take it. You did so and he helped you out of the carriage. You walked into the flower store, Jack behind you.

"Buy some red tulips." You ordered Jack as you looked out the window at all the happy people. Jack bought the flowers and a little card. You nodded and headed back to the carriage.

"To the graveyard please Jack." You said as you looked at the tulips in your lap. There was one tulip that was a mixture between red and orange. It was different. You smiled as you knew Jack chose these ones on purpose. Once the carriage stopped Jack helped you out again and you led the way to the grave. You took your eye patch off and knelt on the grass in front of the grave.

"Happy Birthday mother. I hope you are having a good time up in... heaven... You were an amazing mother and I wish you were still here." You smiled as you placed the flowers down, the card next to it. You wiped away the tears that were falling and you stood up. You turned to face Jack.

"We should head back to the manor, it's almost lunch time." You said as you started walking out of the graveyard. Jack said nothing as he followed you.

You arrived back at the manor, your eye patch on again. Jack opened the door and you entered. You weren't greeted by anybody like normally. You shrugged it off as you walked into the dining room. All of the servants where in there eating cake.

"What's going on?" You asked as you raised an eyebrow. Everyone stopped and stared at you. The chef answered.

"I was ordered to bake lots of cakes. So I did as I was told and then we were all told we had today off and the cakes were for us." The chef explained. You nodded.

"Where's Elizabeth and our... guests?" You asked, thinking of the correct words to use.

"They went to town half an hour after you left." A maid said. You looked at Jack.

"They didn't follow us into the graveyard Young Mistress." Jack said in a low voice. You looked back at the servants.

"Please, don't stop because of me. It's your day off. Have fun!" You smiled and laughed as everyone cheered. You looked back at Jack.

"But they did follow us to the flower store. That's why we went a different way home isn't it?" You asked. Jack just smirked.

"Can't I celebrate my own birth mothers birthday without them?" You sighed. You shook your head. "Go enjoy the cake. You're dismissed for today." You said as you smiled again. Jack smiled.

"Thank you Young Mistress."
