"Okay. Jack. How about, I fall down the stairs, and I actually get hurt and then you help me and look after me and that's how this all starts?" You said, running a hand through your hair. You were getting annoyed. You and Jack had been in your study for hours, trying to figure out a good plan that would work, and you were getting extremely tired.
"I mean, I've never hurt myself that was actually serious, maybe this time I can hurt myself bad enough that I might need to require stitches." You said, rubbing your eye slightly.
"I don't think that's very wise Young Mistress." Jack said. You rested your head on the table for a few minutes. You growled in frustration.
"Then what? What can we do? This plan has to work. I will win, Jack. I love Elizabeth, I do, but for once I will get what I want. I am turning these goddamn tables around at any cost, and you are my butler so you will help me even if you don't want to. Now we better come up with an idea soon because it is late. I am tired, I bet you are tired. Elizabeth will be waking me up soon to meet her stupid fiance again, and he's not even stupid. I think he's really clever. He would be able to help me, but then he might give me this look of pity because my father doesn't love me enough. That I need jealousy to get my father to want his daughter." You spoke really fast. Even if you were half demon, you were half human and needed sleep... badly. Elizabeth was not easy to be around either, and you needed all your energy. Jack said nothing as you carried on thinking.
"Okay, if falling down the stairs is also ruled out," You said as you scrunched up another piece of paper, "then how about tomorrow, we get one of the best sword fighters in England to fight me, and I'll get hurt, not majorly, and you come to the stupid rescue and we carry on from there?" You asked, moving to another piece of paper. Jack bowed.
"As you wish, Your Majesty." Jack bowed. You jumped up and down.
"I did it! I finally found a plan that might actually work! Oh, this is pure bliss. Jack, you are dismissed. I thank you for your patience." You said as you headed for the door.
"There is no need to thank me Young Mistress, I'm simply following orders." Jack bowed as he opened the door for you. He walked you to your room and left, going to his room. You got changed into a nightgown and got under the covers of your bed, letting the pull of sleep take over. You finally came up with a plan.
~~~
"[Y/N]!" You heard Elizabeth's voice shout from the other side of the room. She was by her door. She was going to run in. Please don't run in. Please let me sleep. You thought, but you weren't exactly lucky. Elizabeth ran and pulled the covers off of you.
"Wake up! Ciel is coming in an hour!" Elizabeth shouted again. You sat up, rubbing your eyes.
"I thought he was coming for lunch?" You asked.
"No silly, we are going to town for lunch." Elizabeth clapped. You rolled over and off the bed, by accident of course.
"Lizzy, I can't go out today. I have sword fighting after lunch." You said as you rubbed your head, sitting up. Elizabeth looked slightly disappointed.
"Then we'll just have lunch in the garden!" Elizabeth said as she pulled you up. She walked to your closet and got out a dark blue dress. It was a few inches above the knee, but it was what you used for fighting. It was easier to move in. She smiled as Jack walked in.
"Young Mistress, breakfast will be ready in 5 minutes." Jack bowed. You nodded, flashing Jack a quick smirk. Jack returned it and walked out. Elizabeth was oblivious to the smirks shared and she carried on looking for matching accessories.
After you finished getting dressed, more like Elizabeth throwing you in clothes, you tied your hair up. Elizabeth always wanted you to make your hair like hers but you never did. You didn't want to look like her, you just wanted to have her eyes. Or maybe the same coloured eyes. Blue, perhaps. You put on a light blue ring as an accessory. You also put in a black hair clip that looked like a bow. You smiled at your reflection, but only for a few seconds because Elizabeth grabbed your hand and pulled you down the stairs. You thought you should've stuck with the falling down stairs plan, it was easy since Elizabeth pulled you everywhere."Stupid butler." You muttered. Elizabeth was blabbing on about something so she didn't hear you talking to yourself. Elizabeth stopped outside the dining room doors, straightened out her dress and walked in, letting go of you. You had to fight the urge to bow. You would always feel like you needed to bow, you weren't royal enough. To them though, you were. You and Elizabeth smiled.
"Good morning Mother, Father." You smiled again as Jack pulled a chair out for you. Elizabeth's maid did the same. You and Elizabeth sat opposite each other, waiting for your butler/maid to bring the food out for you. For breakfast today, it was pancakes. Blueberry pancakes. You mentally sighed. Whenever it was blueberry pancakes, it was because Elizabeth requested it. You made a mental note to ask the chef to make something else for breakfast tomorrow. As everyone ate, there was a silence. An awkward one at that. At first you were worried that somehow Elizabeth, or anyone for that matter, knew about your plan, but you were soon reassured when you noticed the glances between your mother and father. When they gave each other glances like that, it normally meant that they would be going somewhere, leaving you alone with the servants. You smiled at them.
"It's okay, when will you be back?" You asked as you finished breakfast.
"A few weeks." Your father answered sighing in relief. You nodded and Elizabeth looked slightly disappointed. She always did, no matter how many times your parents would go away for a few weeks for business trips. You didn't mind.
"When are you leaving?" You asked as Jack collected your plate and glass.
"In 10 minutes." Your mother smiled a sad smile. Elizabeth looked like she was about to cry, but you just nodded. You knew they would look after themselves, and they had very good servants that they would take with them. There was a knock on the door. You decided to go see who it was. Your parents told you not to go, that you had servants for that, but you went anyways. You skipped towards the door. You opened the door and saw Sebastian and Ciel.
"Milday, you shouldn't be opening doors." Sebastian stated.
"I needed to do something. Mother and Father are leaving soon and I thought that Lizzy would want to spend time with them before they leave. You know, as a family." You shrugged slightly.
"You are a part of this family." Ciel said. You moved to the side, letting them in.
"I guess so. I don't really know what it feels like to have real parents. I don't fit in. I'm not royal enough. I'm different." You sighed. You were about to walk to the kitchen when Jack appeared behind you.
"Young Mistress, you shouldn't be opening doors. It's unlady like." Jack scolded slightly.
"You sound like my parents." You rolled your eyes, smiling slightly. This is a good start. You thought. Jack bowed.
"I apologize for making you wait." Ciel waved his hand dismissively. You and Jack shared a look. Sebastian and Ciel noticed it, but said nothing. Jack walked towards the living(?) room. Ciel sat on a sofa, you sitting next to him. Sebastian stood behind Ciel and Jack stood behind you.
"Jack, when will the sword fighter be arriving?" You asked as you twirled a piece of hair.
"After lunch Young Mistress." Jack answeres.
"Sword fighter?" Ciel asked. You nodded.
"Yeah. Elizabeth is very good with swords. Me, not so good so I have to train more. I'm only human." You smirked. Ciel looked at you and said nothing. Elizabeth soon came out of the dining room, looking at you and Ciel. Before she could say anything, you spoke.
"Has Mother and Father left yet?" You asked. Elizabeth nodded. You stood up.
"Well, you better be getting ready to go to town." You smiled. Elizabeth laughed slightly.
"We're staying here with you." Elizabeth smiled. You hid your smirk. Ciel look relieved.
"The sword fighter will be arriving in an hour. I guess we might as well do something entertaining until then." You said as Ciel got up and you started heading outside.
