Rachel was back in Ohio to help her dads out with her dad Hiram's medical bill after having a stroke, she had to leave her boyfriend Sebastian behind as he wasn't done with his exams. She was in the Lima Bean line waiting and talking with Blaine and catching him up on her and Sebastian when someone had bumped into her.
Rachel looked down, and saw the girl on the ground and extended her hand out to help the girl up.
Marley felt embarrassed at what happened and took Rachel's hand to stand up.
"I'm really sorry. I should have watched where I was going. I'm really clumsy." Marley then looked up after brushing off any dirt that could have been on her and saw that she had bumped Rachel. Marley couldn't believe it, she bumped into New Directions' own star Rachel, and she then became even more embarrassed and left the coffee shop.
Rachel watched Marley leave and said to Blaine
"Who was that?" The moved up in the line and said
"That was Marley, she's quite talented, she reminds me of you in a way Maria." Rachel quickly looked at Blaine and said
"What do you mean Tony?" Blaine didn't know how to answer her and then said
"Come on. I'll show you." They paid for their coffees and Blaine lead Rachel to Mckinley. Rachel was confused and said
"What are we doing here?" Instead of answering her, Blaine took her hand and lead her to the auditorium and saw and heard Marley sing I dreamed a dream from Les Misérables.
Rachel couldn't believe it, as she heard Marley sing she couldn't that someone other than her can sing Les Misérables songs.
As Marley finished singing and prepared for the next song to sing Blaine nudged Rachel to leave Marley to rehearse and he said
"We should leave her, and I told you she reminds me of you." Rachel couldn't believe it, but nothing's bothering her more than the fact that she and Marley have similar eyes and even the same personalities, Rachel started to wonder if she did have sister out there and if it's Marley.
Rachel knew she had to speak to her dads and she told Blaine to take her home. When Rachel walked inside her dads place she couldn't get thought of Marley being her sister out of her head.
Leroy saw Rachel walk in and knew something was wrong
"You okay Star, you look like you've seen a ghost, and don't worry your dad is resting and is sleeping." Rachel wasn't sure how to approach it but she knew she had to.
"Can I ask you something?" Leroy began to worry and said
"What's going on Star?" Rachel took a deep breath and said
"Do. Do I have a sister?" Leroy wasn't sure what to say as Millie didn't want to give up Marley. He said
"What made you ask that Star, you know Shelby couldn't have anymore kids after you." Rachel shook her head and said
"It doesn't matter." Rachel then walked up to her room and started pacing and can't stop thinking that Marley is her sister and how weird her dad Leroy had acted when she had asked the question. As she paced she saw her dad Leroy walk to his and her dad Hiram's bedroom and closed the door. Rachel knew that they only did that during the day if they wanted to talk
Rachel silently walked out of her room, and carefully and silently placed her ear against the door in hopes she could find out anything.
Leroy sat on the edge of the bed to talk to a wide awake Hiram
"She figured it out. I don't know how but she did." Hiram knew what Leroy meant and said
"Should we inform Millie, since she didn't want to give Marley up." Leroy sighed
"I'm not sure"
Rachel stepped back,and silently gasped as she looked at the closed door to her dads bedroom, she couldn't believe it. She had a sister and noone told her.
Rachel knew what she had to do. She rushed down stairs, picked up her keys and drove to Mckinley. She needed to talk to Marley about everything.
When Rachel reached Mckinley once, she walked around to look for her and then spotted her at her locker. Rachel slowly walked over to her
"Marley right?" Marley looked up from her bag as she closed her locker and said
"Yeah, and I know you're Rachel. You're a legend in Glee club plus I saw you in New York for Jane Austen Sings and I also know you're a friend of Blaine, Sammy and Tina and I'm really sorry for bumping into you earlier as well, i wasn't watching where i was going." Rachel was happy that Marley knew her and she said
"Its okay really. But can we talk, there's something I need to tell you. It may be shocking at first, even I'm trying to wrap my head around it since I found out from a conversation I overheard from my dads." Marley was confused and said
"Okay we can go to the choir room here if you want to." Rachel nodded her head and walked to the choir room with Marley, when they walked in they sat down and Rachel said
"Marley I'm your sister" Marley was confused even more and said
"I don't have a sister, I don't even have a dad present in my life." Rachel sighed and said
"And I know why."
Marley sat there shocked at everything Rachel had said at first she didn't believe it but then remembered all the times her mum would tense up before answering her with a don't worry about it.
"Come to think of it whenever I asked my mum about what happened to my dad she would tense up, then tell me to not worry about it or tell me he left when he found out she was pregnant. And then act really weird for the rest of the day, eventually I stopped asking." Rachel felt for Marley because after all Rachel did drop a bombshell on her.
Marley was silent and then said to Rachel
"Do you want to get out of here Rach. Away from the lies around us, and away from the people who separated us?"
