A Date of a Lifetime (Harukyu)

Chapter 10

Jihoon was leisurely leaning against the doorframe of Junkyu's room with his arms crossed on his chest while he watched the man pack some clothes inside his black bag pack.

"Aren't you guys going fast? What's with this sleepover?" Jihoon interrogated without Junkyu glancing at him as he was busy with packing.

The man was indeed caught in a surprise when Haruto asked him for a sleepover. Junkyu wasn't sure how to take it and how to react. He has never been in a sleepover and the fact that it is his boyfriend asking him, quite made an impression. But despite the second thoughts, he just agreed after hearing Haruto's reason.

"He wants me to meet his mom and since she's only staying for a week, he wants to make the most of it. You're overthinking, Park Jihoon." Junkyu scoffed.

Jihoon heard this the first time last night when Junkyu informed him about the invitation. He's been with Junkyu for almost a year under the same roof and his best friend hasn't spent a single night outside their apartment. Maybe it's going to be the start of lesser time with his friend, now that he is in a relationship. He couldn't voice out the protest in his chest because he knew he has no right to go in between. But he couldn't help but worry for Junkyu.

"And you're going home the next day, right?" His words made Junkyu face him from beside the bed and jeered.

"I will, okay? Don't worry."

Jihoon smirked at the man before responding. "Who knows? He might not let you go home. Though, I won't be surprised either."

Junkyu laughed at the silly thought. They just officially got together for a few days and Junkyu didn't think they reached that level of deep affection yet... well, at least for him. He was just very happy at the thought that Haruto wanted him to meet his mom.

It didn't take much time for Junkyu to pack what he just needed for an overnight. After receiving a text from Haruto that he's waiting for him, Junkyu bid his temporary goodbye to Jihoon who then just watched him by their door, excitedly went down the stairs while Haruto waits for him by his car. Looking at the big smile plastered on Junkyu's face, Jihoon unconsciously beamed. That's the only reward he wants for himself... to see his first love always happy.

Inside the car, Haruto kept on glancing at Junkyu from his side and couldn't stop himself from smiling. When he asked Junkyu about the sleepover, he was already prepared for a negative answer, and he didn't plan on forcing it if Junkyu doesn't want to. Though it was a genuine and innocent invitation, Haruto hoped Junkyu wouldn't think otherwise. He just wanted his mom to meet Junkyu when she mentioned him the other day and turned out she also saw his Instagram post with Junkyu – a first time after he broke up with Asahi. And unlike his first relationship, it took his mom three visits in Korea before he decided to bring Asahi over to meet her, despite already dating for almost a year. Haruto blamed it to 'first times' of relationships which are always either clumsy, impulsive, or immature.

"Is there anything your mom dislikes? You never let me get something for her. I feel bad."

Haruto's mind came back to reality after wandering in his thoughts when he heard Junkyu speak.

"It's fine. Don't worry about it. She also doesn't want to burden you with anything." He casually responded.

But Junkyu still subtly fidgeted with his hands. He's nervous and he didn't know that meeting the parents of your partner could be that nerve-wracking. His tension didn't go unnoticed to Haruto which made the latter faintly smirked. He found it cute observing how nervous Junkyu got but still tried to calm down.
