A Date of a Lifetime (Harukyu)

Chapter 13

Autumn is about to end, rendering the temperature to drop. After their visit on Junkyu's family's death anniversary, the couple just got even closer – especially Haruto. He felt like he had gone deeper in knowing Junkyu by meeting his family despite the tragic events that led to their early passing. It made him understand Junkyu more and even admired him for being so strong despite having to live alone. He also started to accept his very special friendship with Jihoon after only knowing snippets of their story from his boyfriend. In fact, he was genuinely glad that Jihoon was their when Junkyu needed someone the most.

Junkyu is amazing. Haruto thought of this. After all that happened to him, he remained so bright and positive. Inevitably, Haruto fell even deeper, making him almost cling to the guy whenever he could. Though he is thankful that he never heard any complains from his boyfriend, he still wanted to keep him by his side. Call him possessive, or even obsessed because Haruto is. And even his best friend, Jeongwoo, has always told him that, he would just shrug it off now but still would make his cheeks warm sometimes especially when he's front of Junkyu and Jeongwoo would tease him. Well, damn his annoying best friend.

So, Haruto once again booked an appointment with Junkyu for the entire day. He did tell Junkyu he wanted to use his VIP perks of dating him for another month, but the latter refused, feeling a bit awkward and uncomfortable for making his boyfriend pay for their month date when they are almost seeing each other everyday anyway.

Because of an unpleasant memory of a park date, Haruto decided to have a date in Olympic Park where they can see nature and visit the cosmos flower field. This time, he brought his camcorder and a polaroid to take photos of Junkyu. Haruto was never fond of taking photos unless it's for his art gallery and just art research purposes. However, he started thinking he wanted to keep moments with Junkyu not only in his head, but also in something he could look back to and reminisce. He thought that because Junkyu's house was caught on fire, all of his family's photographs were burnt to ashes and Junkyu only had those photos of them he used for their frame. So, he bought an Instax just few weeks ago to give him something in return as well.

"Woah!" Junkyu exclaimed under his mask. He's feeling a bit of a cold that day, so he had to wear one.

The park was crowded with people – families having their quality time, high school students spending their leisure time, and of course lovers enjoying their dates as well.

Seeing Junkyu's excitement glistened in his eyes, a wide smile immediately plastered on Haruto's face and got out his camcorder to start taking video of his date. Even if he hasn't told him about it, Haruto guessed Junkyu must've liked nature a lot. He remembered his boyfriend's story about wanting to bring Junghoon in the park, but because of his social anxiety, they barely went out.

Junkyu looked around and admired the cold air gushing over his face, even penetrating under his mask. He was wearing his cute beret that Haruto gave him a few days ago and told him to wear it for their date. Haruto wanted to initially cancel their date because of his slight cold but he insisted telling his very caring boyfriend he'll just wear a mask.

Haruto continued to hold the camcorder up to his chest while they walked around the crowded park. They could see the Namsan Tower from their and despite Haruto not being fond of such crowds, he took a liking just watching Junkyu in it – both through his camera lens and his own eyes. He would then take candid shots of his boyfriend using his Instax.

Again, it was a first for both of them; for Junkyu, literally all their dates have been his firsts, and for Haruto, it's the first time he got so madly in love with someone to the point of holding two cameras on his hands recording and snapping almost at the same time. Haruto must be really whipped, but who won't? Just the crescent eyes of Junkyu and him getting so excited about every little thing makes Haruto's heart feel butterflies.
