Sprout had calmed down more, and felt relaxed. As Sprout and Hitch walked together, they reached the cliff. They both sat down and started talking to each other. Hitch felt really glad he was with Sprout, feeling relaxed and calm. Sprout was feeling better and relaxed. As they talked more, they leaned in closer. They ended up staring into each others eyes. Hitch leaned in and kissed Sprout passionately, and as Sprout didn't know what to do for a split second, he relaxed and enjoyed it. Hitch pulled out, blushing a ton, and same with Sprout. They both seemed to have little stars in their eyes. Sprout cleared his throat as if to say something. Sprout said four very simple words:
"I love you, Hitch." Sprout said it with such love in his voice, a blush on his face and a big smile. Hitch blushed deeper and replied, "I love you too, Sprout." Sprout's eyes started to tear a little and he gave Hitch a tight squeeze. Hitch was confused and asked, "You okay, buddy?" Sprout nodded.
"I'm just really happy that you love me back. I've loved you for the longest time, Hitch." Sprout said quietly. Hitch smiled and kissed the top of Sprout's head. Sprout ear twitched a little when Hitch did.
"I've... loved you for a long time, as well. You're the best deputy, Sprout." Sprout blushed. Sprout lied down on the ground and rested his head on Hitch's stomach. Hitch smiled and started patting Sprout. Sprout smiled and closed his eyes. Hitch smiled as well and watched the horizon.
