Draco choked on his own saliva

"Surely there's someone better than me?" Draco asked

"There isn't, you are an inspiration for the future generations, reformed and making new of your past, going against everything and everyone and finding what makes you happy" she said

"So it's a publicity stunt? 'Former deatheater Draco Malfoy made head of house for Slytherin? What will he do next?' Sorry Headmistress but no"

The Headmistress walked to him

"No, I want you to inspire the future students who come from similar homes like yours, I want you to show them that they have the ability to chose" she explained

Draco looked down and contemplated it

"I have to talk with Hermione about it, I will owl—"

A majestic peacock flew into the office and spread its tail before Draco

"Hermione is in labour, I am not able to take her to St. Mungo's, we're at your home, come quickly"

Draco shot the Headmistress a panicked glance as she waved her hand

"The quickest way would be with a portkey, but unfortunately there was an incident regarding a student making an illegal portkey and now whenever a porkey is used from Hogwarts must have a lengthy debrief, the second would be using the train but that may take even longer, although the most accessible way would be through the floo network but it will only send you to Hogsmeade and then you will have to travel through there many other floo's"

Draco nodded and quickly put on his coat

They made their way to the Floo in the Headmistress' office and he grabbed some power

"I wish you all my congratulations, and I hope to hear your decision"

"Thank you Headmistress"

He stepped through the green flames and emerged in the three broomsticks and made his way to the back

"I need to use your floo"

He stepped through the flames and emerged in the Hogshead, he quickly left the pub and made himself to the public network, he then stepped into the Ministry before making his way to the apperation point

Since his mother had warded the Floo private, there was no way to enter Foxes End through the Floo

He reached the apperation point and apperated directly to his home, he landed in the living room and a pained scream bounced off the walls

"Hermione!"

He ran to his bedroom and saw Hermione laying on the bed with a pained looked

"D-Draco" she cried

"I'm here" he ran to her, he took her hand in time for another contraction to take hold of her

"That's it, you're halfway there, you're at five centimetres, that's it breath...good...you're doing so good Hermione"

Hermione cried out and fell back into the pillows, Narcissa pulled back and took off her gloves before grabbing a moist towel

"You will be in charged of cooling her down, take this and keep it moist with cold water Draco"
