Church today was so boring. I got to church around 9 for Sunday School and listened to our pastor talk until about 10. Then I go downstairs to talk with a bunch of the boys since there are no girls within five years of my age. Jordan and Jason(the Smith twins), talked about their trip to Nepal that they had just gotten back from and how now their mom was giving them all this homework because they had started school two weeks late. Zach and George stood around 'Listening' while pinching each other. I walked away to go find my niece Kayla(3) and her brother Kaleb(4) who were just getting out of their Sunday School class. I walked them upstairs to find my sister, Heidi, her husband, Justin, and of course their other two daughters Kristen(1) and Kelsey(3 months). Justin took Kayla and Kristen to the restroom while I talked to Heidi about the babysitting I was supposed to do this Thursday night while they went to an appointment up in Jackson Hole and stayed up there with Flynn(the oldest and my only brother) and his family. Kelsey started to fuss as Heidi looked all through the diaper bag for her pacifier. "Can you hold her real quick while I go look in the car", she asked, trying not to make a scene. "Sure thing", I said, as she left on her way to find the lost pacifier. I bounced Kelsey around calming her down, while listening to Kaleb talk about his new friend at school. Church would start in about 10 minutes and I would be sitting back here listening to the same pastor preach again not putting the pieces together with all the chaos in our row. Ever since Emily and Justin moved back they had always sat in the same row as us. 5 pews from the back on the right side of the sanctuary, close To the cry room door, but close enough to the front to hear most of the time. "Emmy, I have to go potty", Kaleb informs me. "Okay", I say, grabbing his hand as he leads the way towards the back of the sanctuary. We find our way though the people standing out in the foyer and to the restroom, where I can see Justin standing waiting for the girls. "I see you found me" Justin says sarcastically as we approach. We make small talk until both girls come out of the restroom. Church will start in about five minutes and by now my parents have sat down, and Heidi is probably wondering where everyone is. "I'll take the girls back", I inform Justin, picking up a whinny Kristen in one arm while cradling Kelsey in the other. "Okay, thanks" he says. "Lead the way" I say to Kayla. I follow her back to the sanctuary, trying to keep up with her as she finds her way through the gaps of people. "Excuse me, Sorry", I say time and time again. "Sorry" I hear someone say from behind me as I try to regain my balance. I turn around to see the prettiest dark brown eyes, and light brown hair, staring me straight in the face. "It's okay," I say, then turn around again to try to find Kayla but it's useless. She probably made it back to the pew already, I made my way back to the pew to see everyone already sitting down. I gave Kelsey back to Heidi, and Kristen to my mom as I made my way down the bench to my spot in between Kayla, and my dad. I got settled into my spot just as the bell rang, signalling the start of the service. I turned to our first song in the hymnal and looked up only to see that same light brown hair, sitting right in front of me. The rest of the service went by slowly, and at the end. Those same brown eyes and brown hair, turned around as he got up to leave, "Fancy seeing you again, I'm Parker". "I'm Emily, and sorry again about earlier", I said. "Totally my fault, no harm done here." I smiled as he walked towards the back of the church, and I turned to help Kayla put her markers away. My dad questioned me on the way to lunch, but I told him I had just met him and reminded him that he was probably just in town for the weekend visiting, I would maybe see him two more times in the next year, and that was okay for now.
