Leilani and Carter sat near each other, their eyes focused on a sheet of paper as they played hang man while Coach Finstock rambled about stock market.
"The stock market is based on two principles. What are they? Yes, McCall, you can go to the bathroom. Anybody else?" Coach said when Scott's raised his hand in the air.
"Uh, no, Coach, I know the answer." Scott spluttered.
Coach to bursts into laughter.
The girls look up from their game to see the man cackling at a slightly flustered Scott.
When he noticed no one else was laughing with him, his laughter faded, "Oh you're serious."
"Yes. Risk and reward." The boy confidently answered.
"Wow! Who are you? And what have you done to McCall? Don't answer that. I like you better. I like you better. Does anybody have a quarter? A quarter." Coach praised the boy before asking the class.
Stiles reached into his pocket to grab a quarter only for the condom from yesterday to fall out of his pocket.
He glanced at Carter with wide eyes only to see her and Leilani holding in their laughter.
When Carter put the condom in his pocket the night before, she didn't think he would wear the same pants from the party. She only did it so no one would notice that the box in Heather's house was still full. Carter only wanted to help the brunet boy.
But it doesn't hurt to laugh a little.
"Stilinski, I think you, uh... You dropped this. And congratulations." Coach cleared his throat, patting his shoulder.
Stiles stared at the back of the person's head in front of him when he feels a paper hit him on his head.
He turned around quickly to the source only to see Carter look at him with a grimace.
"I didn't mean to hit your head." She whispered apologetically to him.
The Stilinski sighed out an, "It's fine." before turning around to face the front.
"Dude." She threw another paper.
"What?"
"I wanted to say sorry. I didn't expect you to bring the condom to school."
"Oh...yeah, no, it's fine. Totally fine. It's no big deal—"
"Okay. Who's next? Who wants the quarter?" Hearing this, Stiles winks at Carter, banging his desk to grab Coach's attention.
"There ya go! There's a gambling man! Come on! Step up, step up. All right, Stilinski."
The door to the classroom opens revealing Sheriff Stilinski himself.
"Stiles." Sheriff Stilinski called out.
"Yeah, Coach, I got it." The boy waved the voice off, still not paying attention to his father.
"Stiles." The man said louder, finally getting the boy to look up to see his dad and a few other deputies at the door.
"Follow me."

Carter got a text from Derek informing her that they may need her help, once again, with Isaac.
To say the girls were annoyed would be an understatement. Leilani was going to ask Jessica if she wanted to join only to find out she was hanging out with Allison.
So, walking into the animal clinic with her dead mother's herbs (requested by Deaton himself), Carter gained the males attention.
"Whatever you're doing with this better work because my dad was not pleased to find me digging through my mother's old office." Carter stated while placing the bag on the table.
"I assure you it'll work but we might the two of you to calm him." Deaton told her, gesturing to Isaac.
Carter froze.
She's never done any healing spells before. All she learned from her mom was how to protect herself.
Leilani noticed her friend's face and wondered what was wrong.
It is then that she remembered training with Carter's mom and only ever seeing her friend do defense training. She's never actually seen the girl heal someone with something other than a band-aid and rubbing alcohol.
"Why don't you do it?" Leilani asked the eldest man, "She brought the herbs and the books you asked for, why does she have to do the spell? Aren't you like super powerful or something?"
"While I am "powerful" as you say. I'm not particularly capable of doing the spell needed to help Isaac remember. The only person other than Carter who is able to do this would be Carter's mother who is- "
"Dead." Carter cuts the man off with a frustrated sigh.
"Right. Well, I don't know what I doing so do you have instructions?" When Carter admitted this, Isaac couldn't stop his eyes from widening.
"I'm a test dummy?" The Lahey asked with a slightly scared look on his face.
"Yeah." Leilani winced, patting his shoulder before helping Deaton set up. What she didn't know was that a simple shoulder tap from her increased the Lahey boys heart beat.
Though Derek did pick up on this and he couldn't help but roll his eyes. This kid is really about to drown and still couldn't control his hormones.
"Obviously, it's not going to be particularly... comfortable. But we can slow your heart rate enough, you'll slip into a trance - like state." Deaton informed the boy.
"Like being hypnotized." Isaac concludes.
"Exactly. You'll be half transformed. Carter will access your subconscious mind."
"How slow does his heart rate need to be?" Scott questioned, worried for him.
"Very slow." Deaton responded vaguely.
"Okay, well, how slow is very slow?" Derek asked.
"Nearly dead." Carter scoffs jokingly. That is until she looks up at Deaton's straight face, "Nearly dead?"
"Nearly dead." The man confirmed.
"Oh God." Leilani groaned.
"It's safe though, right?" Isaac let out a shaky breath, getting more scared by the minute.
"Need I remind you that Carter has zero clue what she's doing." Leilani tells the teen, "Do you want him to answer honestly?"
"No. No not really." Isaac nodded.
Carter dropped the book she was looking at causing everyone to look towards her.
She clears her throat, scratching the back of her head, looking at an extremely nervous and fearful Isaac, "Let's get started, shall we?"
