Tragedy: an event that causes great suffering, distress and destruction. Writers such as Shakespeare use this word to create a sense of tension or emotion in a story.

But what about when it really happens, what do you do then? Cry? Scream? Laugh?
Everyone reacts differently. Ennoshita was no different. Except he did none of those, he sat there like a deer. Frozen and wide eyed. Everything was silent except the screams of the people around them.

He was just holding her hand, he was just laughing with her. When did she even let go?

Thats right, she let go to save the kid. The kid? What kid?

Right that kid crying. But where is she?

On the road? That can't be right.

She was just here, holding my hand. Right?

He looked at his hand, empty.
No no no it can't be empty, she was holding it.

A scream? But whose?

Oh wait that was his. His? Why was he screaming? Why am I screaming?

Go to y/n, go to y/n.

His brain was on autopilot. He couldn't comprehend what was happening. All he knew was that his feet were taking him to y/n. His dear y/n.

What happened you may ask?

The two lovers were walking in the snow, just a normal afternoon. When a car slipped on black ice, what a pain black ice is. A child was trying to cross the street, yet the car couldn't stop in time.

And dear y/n, how she couldn't help but save others, went to save the child. She managed to get the child out of harms way, but oh the black ice on the road. She couldn't help but slip.

Poor Ennoshita, watched the entire thing unfold. Almost in slow motion. Until she got hit.

Dropping to his knees next to her body he grasped her hand. Desperate for her to move, to say anything.

And she did, only last thing. "Did I manage to save the kid?"

He choked out a broken yes while he bit back the urge to cry. Her eyes glazed over as she smiled. A smile he always loved. "Good, what is a knight if they can't save a life."

A gasp of pain, the quickening of her breath. She knew she wouldn't last long. She knew it, but how could she admit such a thing when she saw her usually quiet best friend crying.

Raising a shaking hand up to his face, she wiped a stray tear. Holding his hand tightly, she offered him one last smile. "I love you enno, I always will. Please accept fate."

Then her eyes faded to nothing. A dull shade of e/c, no more joy can be found.

The sound of sirens could be heard over his sobbing. But to him, all he wanted to hear was the sound of her heart once more.
