(...I'm bored. And title is pending depending on better suggestions. Please help. Mainly based on little nightmares 2 with the duo dynamic thing lol.)

(Hope you enjoy.)

"Quiet."

He flinched.

His best friend flinched.

It's the first one word he's said in quite a while. Silence usually reigned on both the air and the areas depending on survivors and chances of dangers attacking around every corner.

"Okay." He replied in a hushed tone. "What's the plan?"

"Get around the darkness the, the light will drown them out. Fizzled them away the last time, should work again."

It took time getting used this. This new reality they'd adjusted ever since the shadows invaded their home, taking control of all the creatures and only few escaping its spreading grasp.

He sighed, remembering trying to fight someone before they'd succumbed to its promises. In their new reality, everyone either ran for their lives or loved as shell of someone they used to be.

He was nearly one of them. At least until Andy showed up out of nowhere. Then they'd teamed up together and vowed never to give in.

"Heeeeeehhhhhh..."

The vow proved harder than they thought.

These entities (Andy personally named the creatures, don't come after him) advanced toward the duo as they stepped back looking for a way out of here without any violence.

Turned out Andy was a peaceful soul. It annoyed the hell out of him when scenarios like this raised the decisions. He either chose to comply with Andy's peaceful request or give into his instincts to kill and saved himself and the apple man.

He chose the latter every time. Mainly because he loved seeing Andy pissed off and rightfully angry when beating the creatures he'd forced them into attacking them both.

Andy beating one of them to the ground and swimmingly enjoying the thrill of the hunt as they shrieked in pain, bodies hunching before they fizzed into the light and out of existence.

A rare sight indeed.

The emotion of madness in Andy's eyes faded and replaced with his sanity. He missed the other version. That Andy wasn't a bore.

"Your an asshole, Peter."

"Your a boring person, Andy." He fired back, rolling his eyes. "Besides, I know your enjoyed the thrill. I saw the look in your eyes."

Andy flushed in embarrassment. Seemed he'd been caught in the moment. The black void they'd become accustomed to covered his even more red flashing cheeks.

"...Heat of the moment."

"Yeah." Peter sighed, rubbing his temples. "Heat of the moment. That's what everyone says."

He raised his hand and punched a shadow crashed from behind. He didn't even look fazed as they collapsed to the ground shaking and crying out in despair. It'd had been a long time since this world came into existence.

Two? Three years? Maybe five. Peter lost count after the second. Andy never mentioned the topic so he never brought it up. Too sensitive he supposed. He retained some emotion.

"Hey." He whispered, reaching out his hand. "I didn't mean to insult you. It's just nice to see you listen up even if it's not the most healthy way."

Andy tried. He really tried. But since meeting his his only friend, he found himself constantly feeling these new emotions. They refused to let him be mad at the one person who now stayed at his side at all times.

In the end, he took his hand into his own. Peter pulled the apple man close and placed a kiss in the crown of his head. Andy leaned his head in the other's shoulders seeking comfort.

Their hands clutched each others seeking the comfort they needed, wanted, desired.

At least they weren't alone.
