Life as a treasure hoarder was anything but easy, constantly moving camps and fighting off monsters.
Of course you wanted to quit but you just didn't have to money to go out on your own yet.

"Y/n! Boy have we got a job!"
Your fellow treasure hoarder yelled out to you in glee

"What is it?"
You ask

"Just look, if we can get this treasure we'll be set for life man"
He handed you the small crumpled map he'd been reading

"It's on mt hulao"
You remark

"And what about it?"
He scoffed

"No treasure hoarders ever made it off there alive"
It was true, as much as you wanted the money was it worth your life?

"Yeah, yeah, that's just a bunch bs I promise you y/n once we finish this job we can retire"
He laughed carelessly

While you were still wary of the mountain, retiring from this job sounded like a dream.
So you helped pack up camp, along with the rest of your team. setting off for mt. hulao.

As you approached the mountain you could feel something was off. Despite the vibrant orange stones and the warm sun shine down on you, it felt like someone was watching.

"Everything alright y/n?"
Your team mate asked

"Yeah, just feels off around here"
You say nervously

He pat you on the back and shot you a smile carrying on up the mountain.
It's only now that you realize everyone else was far ahead and you were on your own.

You rushed to catch up with your team but no one was there, just more jade and an almost deafening silence.

"Hey Guys! Where are you!?"
You yell out panicked

"You should go"
A woman's voice said

You nearly shot out of your skin at just her voice, but when you turned around to see her staring you down, you ran in a panic.

Sprinting as fast your legs could take you, you didn't even notice the small stone right in front of your trail.
You tripped, falling and hitting your head on hard dirt path.

"No she cannot stay, one can not simply let any mortal live on mt. Hulao"

"But you let me stay"

"Your.. a different story shenhu, now bring the girl down"

"Fine.."

You gasp awake, the world seemed to spin around you. now who you assumed to be shenhu walked towards you.

"You, come with me"
She spoke sternly

You tried to stand but came tumbling down almost instantly,

"Must I do everything"
Shenhu sighed, scooping you up into her arms.

"Your not going to kill me are you?"
You ask hesitantly

"No. I'm just taking you down the mountain"
She seems annoyed, so you decided to just stay quiet.

Resting your dizzy head on her chest, you could hear her heart beating.
every time you moved even an inch, you could feel her heart beat even faster, like she was nervous.

"I'm sorry.."
You said quickly moving your head

"It's fine, I'd like you to stay to be honest"
Shenhu finally spoke

"But why?"
You ask

"I'm not sure, but I enjoy looking at you, my emotions are dulled so I'm not sure what I feel"
You could feel yourself blushing in her arms

"You seem upset, I apologize.."
Shenhu frowns her face twisted in confusion, like she was still trying to figure out just what she felt.

"It's fine I don't mind"
You smile

You arrived at the base of the mountain. Shenhu lightly guiding you down from her arms.

"I'm sorry.. shenhu I didn't mean to be a bother"
You say unable to meet her gaze

"It's fine, if you wish to visit me some time I would.. enjoy that"
Shenhu looks away from you

"Ah! My team where's my team?!"
Finally hitting you, that you hadn't seen your crew since you fell

"Those other men? They're gone now"
She replied

"Gone??"
You shout fearing the worst for your friends.

"Yes they left with some treasure they found in a nearby cave"
Shenhu recalled

"Oh I see, how did I miss them?"
You smile relived they were alright

"You should leave now.."

"Y/n"
You smile

"Yes come visit me y/n, I enjoy your company"
Shenhu waved before walking back up the mountain.
