About 4 months have gone by since Rumi's capture. She was fully healed and back in action, having more of a grudge against the league than ever. I was the opposite as my care for the league has grown significantly. I'm at the base way more than I'm at my apartment and I almost always end up finding myself waking up in Touya's arms at the base. Our relationship was still going strong, we went on dates every couple weeks and I've slowly started letting him come to my apartment with me when I had to be there over night.
Tonight was one of those nights. I had a meeting early in the morning with the commission and other heroes so I couldn't stay at the base. Touya's moved some of his clothes here so he could change while he was here. We were currently lying on the couch together, watching a horror movie Touya picked out. I was lying on his lap, a little scared, but I'd never tell him that. When Touya and I didn't want to go out on dates this is what we did, we took turns picking a movie and we'd have a movie night, sometimes he would cook dinner to go with the movie.
I was disrupted as I heard my phone ring, I picked it up and saw an incoming call from Rumi. I refused to get up as Touya was playing with my hair, which I very much enjoyed, so I just stayed where I was and put my phone to my ear. "What?" I asked, a little annoyed.
"You're so rude to me, why do I stay friends with you?" She sighed, "Anyway, what are you doing right now? I want to come over and do something."
"I'm with my boyfriend, can we do it a different day?" I requested, not wanting her to interfere with my time with Touya.
"You should let me come meet him! And that's not up for debate, I'm already on my way!" She hung up the phone before I could protest.
"Dammit Rumi." I said, a little angry as I abruptly sat up, startling Touya.
"Everything alright?" He asked, concerned.
"Rumi's coming over. She wants to meet you but obviously she can't because you're one of the villains that just kidnapped her a couple months ago." I could tell he was more worried about me than he was Rumi coming over. It was plain to see that I was stressed.
Touya cupped my face with his hands, making me look at him. "Calm down, take a moment to breathe. We can figure something out. If it's easier I can leave and we can regroup tomorrow after your meeting."
"No, I don't want you to leave. Maybe it won't be so bad." I said, taking a deep breath, "Maybe I should introduce you, it'll only be more suspicious if I keep dodging it."
Touya nodded, "If that's what you want, just know that I'll do whatever you want to make things easier for you."
"Just be you, yeah?" Touya nodded and pulled me into a kiss, I moved so I was sitting on his lap and wrapped my arms around his neck. We were interrupted by a knock on the door not that much later. I took a deep breath, slowly walking to the door and opening it, revealing a smiling Rumi. I quickly stepped outside and closed the door, making sure she couldn't see Touya.
"What's wrong? You're not trying to get rid of me are you?" She asked, jokingly.
I sighed, "No, of course not. Just, please don't freak out. I already can see how this is going to turn out, just please Rumi, I'm begging you. Give him a chance. He's not who you think he is." She looked at me confused.
"I know him?"
"Kind of." I sighed again, slowly opening the door and stepping aside, revealing Touya sitting on my couch. Rumi stepped in with a look of horror on her face, she looked back at me.
"Kei, you're kidding. You have to be kidding." She grabbed my shirt, "You can't be serious! You're dating that monster?"
"Rumi, he's not a monster. I asked you to give him a chance for a reason. I trusted you enough to let you meet him because you're my best friend, please trust me on this." Rumi looked up at me. She was crying but nodded, going to sit down in one of the chairs I had near the couch. I closed the door and sat next to Touya. The room was dead silent, you could cut the tension with a knife.
"So, Dabi, how long has this been going on? How long have you known him?" Rumi finally asked, never looking up from the ground.
Touya looked over at her, "I met him 6 months ago, we started dating a month later." He said, putting an arm on the couch behind me. Rumi nodded, that was the end of that conversation.
"Rumi-"
"I'm not mad Keigo. I already know what you're going to say. I'm not mad at you for dating him, it's your life, if this is who you fell for than so be it. But that doesn't mean I'm ok with it. I'm a little sad and hurt about it, he's the one that captured me, but he's also the only one that didn't hurt me while I was at the hideout. I just need time to think about this Kei." She said as she stood up and walked towards the door. Before she left she looked back at me, "I'm not going to tell anybody about this either, I'm not going to get my best friend in trouble." With that she left, leaving Touya and I alone.
He tried to comfort me, "It could've gone worse." I wrapped my arms around him, burrying my head into the crook of his neck.
"Am I a bad friend?" I asked, tears in my eyes.
Touya put an arm around me, "No, you're not a bad friend, you're just in a tough situation. You're a hero who's best friend's a hero, but you're dating a villain and consider a whole group of villains your family, how are you supposed to choose? The situation you're in is shitty Keigo, don't think you're a bad friend for it." I knew he was right, but I still couldn't shake the guilt I was feeling.
"Can we go to sleep? My head hurts." I asked, never letting go of him. He picked me up and went to my room, setting me down carefully under the covers of my bed. He let me go and walked to the other side, getting in next to me. I wrapped myself around him the second he layed down, trying to lose myself in Touya's embrace.
