The second my blade connected I was flung back, barely able to regain my balance. As I looked back up Shigaraki was also nowhere in sight. From where I was in the sky I could see the other league members fighting not too far from us. I'd say another 10 minutes and they'd be over here to help. 10 minutes, that's how long I have to help Shigaraki hold him off for.
Before I started back up I looked around one last time, finding Shigaraki laying on the ground. I sciffed and I flew back in at full speed, sending off some feathers in the process. ReDestro looked bigger than a few moments ago, his skin was also almost completely tainted black aswell. This time I was flung back even harder. I hit the ground, my head feeling dizzy. I looked over and saw that Shigaraki still hadn't gotten up. I knew I had to keep getting up and fighting, I couldn't let him get near Shigaraki just yet.
I slowly got to my feet, seeing that ReDestro was starting to walk over to Shigaraki. I dashed over only to get swiped away yet again. Why? Why am I so weak? I'm the number 2 hero, shouldn't I be better than this. I got back up over and over again, getting injured more and more with each strike, but I didn't care. I had to help Shigaraki.
"Why are you trying so hard? It's obvious you can't beat me, so why do you keep getting up?" ReDestro asked, striking me yet again.
I was wobbling on my feet at this point. I looked up at him and smiled, "I'm still a hero, even if I'm fighting alongside villains. I follow through to the end, even if it means my death." I started towards him again.
"Then I suppose I'll just have to kill you." ReDestro reached his hand out towards me. Just as he was about to touch me Shigaraki jumped between us, his hand folding onto ReDestro's.
"I told you that I'd appreciate it if you didn't injure my comrades." Shigaraki said, his tone dark. ReDestro's hand started to crumble, though fairly faintly. He jumped away from Shigaraki. "Rest for now, you did good Hawks." Shigaraki started to walk towards ReDestro. A sudden gust of wind hit me and Shigaraki bolted up to ReDestro, who barely dodged Shigaraki's attack.
Shigaraki didn't let up, each time ReDestro would dodge an attack he would just go in with another. I saw a wide smile appear on Shigaraki's face, he started laughing seconds later. ReDestro finally managed to break away from Shigaraki, a scared expression on his face. "What the hell are you?" ReDestro asked, since he got a little closer to me I could see just how much damage Shigaraki had actually done to him, there were cracks all over his body. I'm surprised he hadn't turned to dust yet.
Shigaraki was still laughing, he started walking back to ReDestro, "I'm Tomura Shigaraki, leader of the League of Villains and your future king." Shigaraki said, running in for another attack. I couldn't take my eyes off the battle, it was absolutely insane. Even if ReDestro managed to injure Shigaraki it wouldn't stop him, Shigaraki would just go right back in for another attack.
I barely heard him when Shigaraki called out to me, "Keigo! Get into the sky, I'm ending this!" I obeyed Shigaraki's command without any question. I quickly flew up into the sky, pain shooting through my body. I looked back down just in time to see Shigaraki slam his hands to the ground, everything crumbling away underneath of him. Shigaraki's laugh buried ReDestro's cry of pain. He managed to jump away but not in time to save himself. I saw ReDestro slowly start to disintigrate, starting with his legs.
The second he landed ReDestro slammed something into his legs, severing them from his body and stopping the disintigration. Shigaraki walked over to him, smiling. "That was mighty brave of you, sacrificing your legs to save your own life." Sounds of footsteps started getting closer and closer to us.
"ReDestro!" I heard somebody call out. The man appeared, a couple dozen people joining him, "Get down there! Go save him!" He commanded the people but ReDestro just held his hand out, stopping them in their tracks.
"Don't bother, I don't want anybody else to die a pointless death. It was stupid for me to think we could win this fight." ReDestro said, his voice defeated.
"ReDestro, what are you saying?" The man asked, falling to his knees.
"I'm saying that we lost, Trumpet. I'm handing control of our army to Tomura Shigaraki and the League of Villains, they're our new leaders." ReDestro lifted his hand to his head, making the shape of an L. "We give our complete loyalty to you, Tomura Shigaraki."
Shigaraki smiled, "That's what I like to hear, I knew you'd come to your senses eventually." I flew back down to the ground, collapsing as soon as I stopped my wings. "Keigo!" Shigaraki yelled, running over to me.
"I'm alright Shiggy, no need to worry." I said, smiling at him. Shigaraki sighed and smiled back at me. The rest of the league came running over to us minutes later. "You guys look like hell."
"Says you, you look like you can't even stand." Toga laughed.
I felt a pair of arms pull me into a hug. I looked up to see Touya, "Are you alright?"
I smiled and leaned into Touya's embrace, "Yeah, I'm alright, just a little tired." I replied. Touya let go of me and helped me to my feet. The former Liberation Army led us to their main base, which would soon become the league's new base. They had a medic tend to us as they talked things over with Shigaraki, getting his input on how things were going to work.
Touya ended up only having a few cuts and burns, meaning he quickly got fixed up and came to my side. I on the other hand aparently had some bone fractures and a concussion. The medic fixed me up the best they could, but I wasn't allowed to move from this bed for a few days. I was the most injured out of the whole league, which I felt relieved about. I'm happy that none of my comrades got too injured. After making sure everything was alright I let my eyes fall shut, drifting off to sleep, putting an end to this tiring day.
