Chapter 10
***MIRAI'S POV***

I still can't believe I said I wanted to go with him.

That wasn't me talking.

It was Mirai freaking out, not Mirai just Mirai, if that makes any sense.

Now I'm boarding a plane with someone I haven't seen since elementary school to go to Europe.

That sounds crazy.

"I'm gonna head home," I say quickly to Ozzie.

"Why?"

"I . . . I can't go," I reply.

"Mi, what's going on?"

"I barely know you and I'm going to a foreign country with you! Is that not insane?"

"We went to school together. You know me pretty damn well."

"No I don't!" I protest. "That was years ago!"

Ozzie sighs. "You can't keep changing your mind, Mirai. This is your last chance. Are you going to come or are you going to stay?"

I swallow hard. "I dunno."

"Make up your mind!" Ozzie is mad now.

I step back away from him.

"I'm sorry, Mi," Ozzie says. "I'm gonna go use the restroom. When I come back, please tell me your decision." He touches my arm before walking away.

I sit down on a bench, trying not to freak out. Everything happened so fast.

I want to go. I want to be with Ozzie. I love him.

I want to stay. Flying is dangerous. I hate it.

Ozzie comes back a few minutes later. "Hey, baby. You decided?"

I nod. "Yeah."

"Good." He sits down next to me. "What're you gonna do?"

"I'm coming with you," I say slowly. "I'm . . . I'm coming with you."

Ozzie puts his arm around me, kissing my forehead. "I don't want to force you to do anything."

"I know," I reply. "Because you've always been that sweet boy who doesn't hurt anyone."

He raises his eyebrows. "Sweet boy who doesn't hurt anyone?"

"When we were little . . . I mean, you were always there, no matter what. How are you so . . . so sweet?"

"I don't know," he laughs.

"How do you not go insane?"

Ozzie kisses me again. "I was raised well and I like to be nice. I can be mean - right?"

"Ozzie!" I laugh. "I'd like to see you try to be mean."

"You're ugly."

"Oh?"

"No. That's lying. You're beautiful."

I smile.

He tries again. "You're Asian but you're not smart."

I gasp dramatically. "Good one, pretty boy."

"Was that mean?"

"Eh. A good comeback."

Ozzie sighs. "How are you mean?"

"Just sarcastic," I say. "Negative, yes. Mean, nah."

"I can agree to that."
