Chapter 6

The next morning, Reina tells Oscar to go deliver the bags of cash to the housewives. He ends up hand delivering Elizabeth's while she is at the grocery store. He leaves Ruby's and Annie's share in their cars.

Once again, Elizabeth calls Rio's phone. Reina answers the phone and tells her that they will be there in 20 minutes.

Reina, Rio, and a few men walk into the house and see the three housewives sitting at the island with the money on the table. 

"I'm not sure I see the problem here," Rio says looking at the women. 

"You and me both, brother," Annie say making Reina look at her in amusement. 

"Looks like you guys have a lot to work out so we're going to leave" 

"Woah Woah Woah, don't you want to take your product?" 

Reina scoffs, "This ain't the Girl Scouts. You can't give the cookies back. Blue looks nice on you Elizabeth" commenting on the handprint that is turning blue on the woman's face. 

"Aren't you two worried about the FBI?" Annie asks. 

Rio and Reina both shake their heads no. 

"There's a distribution system. You've been distributed to" 

"What does that mean?" 

"You give me a headache. It means you're on the hook now."  Reina explains. 

"It's like 100 grand" 

"You don't have to wash it," Rio says. 

"Then what do we do with it?" 

"Burn it" 
"Eat it" 
"Wipe your ass with it" 
"Then write us a check. Cause either way we're coming to collect" 

And with that, the two gang leaders leave. They get into their shared SUV and head back to their warehouse. 

Rio parks the car gets out and opens up Reina's door. Reina smiles at him and links arms with him. Reina looks at their 'workers' hard at work, creating and washing the fake cash. Buying assets. Expanding their territory. 

"This is all ours. This is our empire" 

Rio smiles genuinely at the woman beside him. They were each other's ride or die. King and Queen. Even if the whole world was against him, he knew that she would have his back. Historians say Rome wasn't built in a day, and they were right. 

It took years of blood, sweat, and tears. Close calls from the police on their backs. Finding the right men. Making connections. Gaining power and respect. He couldn't have done this without his Reina. She was smart and intimidating. Both beauty and brawn. And he couldn't be more in love with her. 

"I love you" Rio finally says looking at her. The warehouse lights make her skin glow, she smiles at him. It wasn't the venomous smirk that she gave everyone else, the one that made people think she could spit poison. The smile she gave him was one that was only reserved for him. 

"Yo también te amo" she replied giving him a kiss. 

"I'm really getting tired of this bitch calling us every time something comes up" Reina complains as Rio drives the two of them to some park where Beth wants to meet up. "Why couldn't she just tell us on the phone" 

"She's paranoid Reina" 

"I had a feeling this was going to be a bad idea" 

They make it to the park and park next to Beth's car. They get out with Rio grabbing the duffle bag that was in the back seat. They hop into Beth's car and Beth explains how some FBI agent came snooping around asking questions. 

"What do I say?" Beth asks frantically. 

"To who?" Reina asks. 

"The FBI! What do I tell them?" Rio was right, she was paranoid. 

"They don't have anything so don't worry your pretty little head" 

Beth shakes her head. "He has a picture of you" 

Beth sounds a little too concerned about Rio's safety for Reina's liking but she shakes it off. She knew that Beth was married and that Rio loved her with everything he had. 

"That ain't special. I'm on Facebook" Rio says finishing counting the money they owed her. Rio and Reina open the door and start to leave before Beth catches Rio's arm making the two gang leaders freeze. Reina immediately glared at Beth's hand making her move it hastily. 

"Listen," Rio starts, "In our line of work if you don't have the FBI on your back then you ain't making noise" 

"I don't want to make noise," Beth says. 

"Then you shouldn't have robbed the grocery store. We are done here" Reina says making the final decision and getting out of the vehicle.
