"WAKE UP! IT'S FLYING TRAINING SEASON!!" an angel called out as he flew away. The angel groaned as he woke up

His light blue wings spread open as he stretched. He closed his wings and noticed the sun shining on his face

He hissed and used his blanket to cover himself. "GEORGE!" the angel called as he took off the covers

"Go away," George groaned as the angel had an idea and flew away. He came back with a horn and pressed the button, making the angel jump off and fall face first on the cloud floor

"REALLY, QUACKITY!" George growled as his friend tossed the horn back and flapped his golden wings, "Practice, now!"

Quackity flew away as George shivered. He looked at his wings at a mirror and sadly got dressed. Once out, Quackity hugged the brunette

"I know our teacher understands your situation, but please, promise me you will fly today," Quackity said as George nodded

A group of angels landed gracefully down as their leader snickered, "Hey! It's the cripple!" His friends laughed as George bowed and felt tears watering his eyes

"Fuck off!" Quackity yelled as he stood in front of George. "So?! Why are you hanging with that cripple?! He can't even fly!"

They laughed as George ran into the school building. "George!" Quackity flew towards the school as the brunette sobbed

George: They're right!

Quackity: No they're not!

George: I can't fly!

Quackity: You can! You're just afraid everyone will judge you!

George: Quack, I have not opened my wings unless I stretch!

Quackity: But I've seen you fly! You can, you're just afraid, that's all!

George nodded as they walked to class. Their teacher came in as he sighed and his dark gray wings spread open, showing white diamond shapes close to the tips of his wings

"Today is the flying test, and I want all of you participating," he said as he eyed at George, who kept his head down

"George?" he called as the class snickered. The angel looked up as his wings quivered. "Come see me after class, ok?" George nodded as he sighed and covered his face with his hood

After class, Quackity gave George a reassuring pat on the shoulder and flew into the next class

The brunette whimpered as he walked towards the teacher's office. "Yes, Phil?" he shivered as his teacher looked up

"George, do you know why you're here?" he asks as George sighed, "Yes, Phil."

Phil: You have been telling me to just excuse you from these tests. This one I cannot, and you're 14 flying tests behind. Plus this one, it'd be 15

George: Please, Phil! I can't do it!

Phil: Has anyone helped you get over your fear?

George: The truth is I can't open my wings when people are looking at me. I get nervous

Phil: You need some motivation. Come with me

Phil flew up to a ledge. He noticed George struggling with opening his wings. He strained and gave up as Phil grabbed George and brought him up

"Look, these statues are going to help, ok?" Phil said as George looked at them and nodded. "Our Gods, Nyx, Atlas, Echo, and Nereus, all gave us the ability to fly and serve like the humans on Earth."

While Phil talked, George noticed there was 5 giant pedestals. Only four had the statues of the gods, but why did they make 5?

"George!" Phil snapped his fingers as George shook his head. "Did you not listen? No matter if you're nervous or not, you have to fly."

George just nodded as he watched Phil glide down. He sighed and started to climb down from the clouds as Phil just shook his head

After school, Quackity and George made their way home. Quackity flew as George walked, holding his notebooks close to him

"Wanna practice?" Quackity asked as George shook his head. He landed on his bed and sobbed. His friend walked in and placed his golden wing over his friend

"Listen, George, I promise you will fly, but you just need help. Maybe you need someone, like a God watching over us, but only this time, watching over you," Quackity said as he noticed George open his wing slightly and sigh

George: Thanks, Quack, but I don't think I'll ever fly if I keep my wings closed

Quackity: I mean, true. I heard some angels became humans for keeping them close, or not exercising them. For now, you should be good

George: Good?! For now?! NO! I must fly!

Quackity: Want to practice?

George: NO!

Quackity sighed as George groaned and faced his pillow again. "If you need anyone, I'll be at my house," his friend said as he flew away

George looked at the door and sat up. His wings were closed and slowly, he opened them. He was able to open them only when he's alone

He tried to fly, but his wings fumbled and he fell. He cursed under his breath as he tried again. For the lack of no flying, he could not fly for real

He struggled as his wings flapped out of place. He trashed his room doing this practice as he gave up and covered himself with his blue wings instead of his blanket

"I can't," he whispered and curled into his small wing barrier and cried the entire night
