Ch 8 - Patience Is The Key

The next morning, George woke up seeing XD's hand on top of him. Shielding him like a mother with her baby

He blushed at the action and stood up. He stretched his wings and heard XD yawn. "Morning, XD!" the brunette called as the God smiled

XD: Morning

George: So what do we do today?

XD: First, I'll do your power training

George: I do have one question, are you ok to wait for long periods of time?

XD: I'm an impatient type

George: *under his breath* Shit! *to XD* I think you'll have to be patient with me. Ever since I had weakened, it takes longer for me to get better

XD: I promise I will have patience for you, my little angel

George: Thank you! You mean everything to me! Thank you for the help!

XD blushed as thoughts of being with George flowed. He shook his head and smiled, "On with your training."

XD scooped up the angel as he pouted. The angel hated being carried without permission, but it seems like the God is a lot more excited than he is

"Here we are! The ocean!" DreamXD announced as George stared in awe. "So much water!" he exclaimed as he noticed waves crashing and sliding towards the shore

"First lesson, lifting water! Show me what you can do," XD said as George pointed both arms at the crashing waves

He strained and groaned as he struggled to carry water. After 5 minutes, he managed to carry only a drop of water

XD: Is this for real?

George: If you want, we can skip training and -

XD: How long have you been like this?

George: A long while?

XD: *muttering* This is going to be harder than I thought

George: Excuse me?

XD: Let's do flight training. It'll help you get confidence and hopefully, do better with your power

George bowed his head as he felt a sting of pain of sadness. The God heard his cry and instantly regretted what he said

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Here...umm..." he looked around and decided to scoop up the angel and placed him close to his chest

He rubbed the angel's back and shushed him. George blushed and grabbed the bits from the God's robe and cried more

XD mentally slapped himself, Why did I hurt this poor and cute angel!? He blushed at what he thought, but in the end, they're just friends, right?

"Listen, I just wasn't expecting it'd be like teaching a baby," XD said and growled at the comment

George: It's ok. No need to be upset

XD: But I hurt you with my words! It makes me sad!

George: In a way, I'm used to it

XD: Please, forgive me, George

XD had his cupped hands closer to his face as George reached his hand to touch his mask. XD just stared and shook his head

"Here," he said as he placed the brunette down, "Flap your wings up and down." George followed XD's wings as both moved in sync

They mimicked the wing movement as XD started going faster. George felt strong wind as XD stayed away from George to avoid knocking him off from the clouds

George closed his eyes as he flapped faster. XD just giggled, but changed expressions when George's boots were off the cloud

"Keep going!" XD said as George flapped faster. He was slowly rising as XD smiled, "YOU'RE ALMOST THERE!"

George still had his eyes closed as he was rising higher. "Open your eyes!" XD exclaimed as George looked down

He wasn't standing on the cloud. He was in the air. He was flying! "I'm flying!" George shouted as XD smiled, "Flying in place, but yeah!"

George wanted to go to XD, but instead, he lost confidence. He tried flapping to move forward, but his wings were sore. He screamed as XD dove down and flew up, catching the angel in his hands

"You ok?" he asks, worried as he checked the angel, who was shivering and hugged XD's thumb hard as XD chuckled

"Let's call it a day," XD whispered as he flew down, landing on Earth. George just kept hugging his thumb as XD placed his hand down

"Want to let go?" he asks gently, and George just shook his head. XD smiled as he sat down and his wings opened a bit

He was petting the angel as he shushed him softly. "I'm here, don't worry. I will always be there if you need me. Just remember, I am your God. Your very first personal God."

George looked up at his masked face and tears started to water his eyes. "Thank you, XD! I am glad I found you!"

"I am as well," XD mumbled as he lifted his mask, placing a kiss on George's head. "Your hair is so soft," XD complimented as George smiled and giggled like a little kid, making XD turn red

Night fell and XD used his wings to barricade the 2. George was holding XD's robe and covered himself, using it as a blanket

The God placed the angel down softly and circled around the brunette. He placed his arm next to George and used the sleeve as the blanket for the angel

"Goodnight, and that was great practice," XD whispered as he gently kissed the sleeping angel and closed his eyes
