Soulmates?

"Morning dad"

"Good Morning my doll" He greeted, kissing both my cheeks.

"You made pancakes?" I exclaimed once the smell of my favourite breakfast hit my nostrils.

"Yeah! Here you go." He assembled a tower of 5 fluffy cakes on a plate for me

"So how is the school doll? Everything good?" He asked.

"It's great dad. I love this school so much. It's big and beautiful plus there are so many activities and clubs. " I honestly answered. "There is this big badminton court too. I played a few times but due to so much pending work I didn't get a lot of time to play sadly."

My last school was very small, there were no extra activities. Only studies. I never liked it but there weren't any other schools in that area. Although I was quite good academically I also had a passion for sports. I never got a chance to enjoy them at school but thankfully we had a pretty big backyard where I played all the sports with my dad. Badminton and basketball being my absolute favourite.

"What about friends? Anyone other than the driver guy?" He chuckled, hinting at Jungkook. Jungkook always picks me up and drops me because he said my house is on his way to school.

"Don't call him that dad! He is my best friend okay?" I exclaimed. " And yes I do have a few other people I talk to but kook is my only good friend."

He let out a hearty laugh seeing me defend my friend. It has always been me and my dad . I grew up without my mom , I had no relatives I knew of and I didn't even have many friends back in Heran mainly because of the fact that I didn't like their mentality and the way they always talked shit about the vampires.

"How is work dad? Is your new office good? And what about colleagues" I asked, pouring extra syrup on my stack of pancakes.

"Hmm . It's good. People here are definitely much more welcoming. Some of my colleagues even offered to have a small welcome party this Friday but I am not too sure. I think I will cancel. '' He shrugged

"What? Why would you cancel? It would be nice to bond with them" I exclaimed

"But it's Friday after work. That means, Godknows how late I will be , I don't want to leave you alone at home by yourself."

I knew my dad loved me a little too much but I didn't want him to not socialise because of me, when we were in Heran he barely got a chance to do it . Just like me he too pretty much didn't have many people to talk to. Sometimes I really wonder why he and mom chose to live in that city because I knew it wasn't his or mum's hometown.

"Who said I will be alone? I was actually about to tell you Jungkook and I have a project so he suggested we could do a night stay at his place or mine. We will complete our work and have some fun as well. " I lied smoothly. There was no project in fact there was no such plan too.

"And who gave you the permission? Because I don't remember saying , Yes" He gave me a sharp glare .

"Oh come on dad. You can't do this to me. It's an important assignment . We need to submit it by tuesday. And you have met Jungkook, he is a nice guy. Please daddy. I have never had a sleepover. I also want to experience it. !!! " His face visibly softened at my last statement.

"Okay fine. Whose place will it be?" He asked.

"Wait let me confirm"

I ran up to my room and dialed Jungkook. I knew it would be weird to call him for a sleepover out of the blue . I don't even know if he would be interested but that's the only lie that came to my mind at that moment.
