I'm done orientation! They actually took me off a little early. I actually HATE the NICU right now. I am making my exit plan to do travel nursing after all the weddings I have this summer. After I make some money traveling, I am going to switch careers to software engineering.
I've been thinking about this for awhile, but I realize I have been miserable with nursing for a long time. I'm not willing to put up with this any longer and I want to be happy again. I'm trying to stick out this NICU for at least 4 more months...but until then, I guess I'm gonna have to stay positive!
There are programs I've found that take students without a BS in comp sci in their Master's program, including a pretty prestigious university near me. I'm gonna take the GREs and prepare myself to start within 2-3 years. It's gonna be a lot of money, but I think ultimately for my happiness, it's a necessary step.
I just don't want to be a nurse anymore.
