Apologise To Myself

No matter how much you say sorry
Your apology sinks not in my bones
It does not heal
rather it saltens the wound

It sets as a reminder
That  it's not you at fault
You are not the one to apologise

Rather I should

I should apologise to myself
For trusting and believing
That you were the real definition
Of masculinity
One that holds the ability
To give me the the feeling of salinity

I should apologise for having high expectations
on a relationship that was never bound to blossom into existence
