Chapter 08: Brief Parting

*Narrator's POV*

In order to help her recover from her self-inflicted wounds, Taiitsukun, the controller, transfused blood from Hotohori and Tamahome into the body of the injured Lady Miaka so she could regain her strength.

Realizing that the school uniforms formed a link between their world and this one, the lady Miaka and Yui, as well as the lady Tsubasa, concentrated their efforts and opened a channel between the two worlds.

Lady Miaka and lady Tsubasa were finally able to return to their own world.

However, once there, the lady Miaka discovered that her best friend, Yui, was nowhere to be found.

The lady Tsubasa must not reveal Yui's whereabouts, for this could result in drastic changes to both worlds, so the lady Miaka must find out where Yui has gotten to alone.

*Nozomi's POV*

I was hanging out at Keisuke's and Miaka's place, waiting for Miaka and Tsubasa to come back. They've been gone for quite awhile, and school had already ended hours ago.

Keisuke handed me a pot noodle and chopsticks. "Here you go. All nice and warm for you."

"Thanks." I took the food gratefully and started eating while Keisuke went to pour hot water in his own pot noodle. "I guarantee you any moment now, our sisters will walk right through that door."

I had a feeling that today would be the day that the girls would be transported to the world of 'The Universe Of The Four Gods'. I just kind of forgot about it till Keisuke called me and asked if Tsubasa was with me because Miaka wasn't home yet.

I was busy studying for a test earlier for the course I'm studying at university, when I got a call from Keisuke, and now here I am, sitting beside him in his house eating a pot noodle, waiting for the girls to turn up.

And as if they heard me, Miaka had opened the front door and called out to us. "I'm home, and Tsubasa is with me as well."

"Hey, Keisuke. Hiya, Nozomi." Tsubasa greeted casually as she followed behind Miaka into the house before they disappeared.

"Hey." Keisuke returned the greeting before digging into his noodles.

I moved my noodles away from my mouth and laughed. "See? Told you they'd come walking through that door safe and sound. You can be such a worry wart sometimes. That just shows that you actually do care about your sister, but in your own way."

"Nozomi-"

"Keisuke? Nozomi?" Miaka reappeared at the entrance with Tsubasa beside her.

"Yeah?" We answered at the same time.

"Have you heard of 'The Universe Of The Four Gods'?"

Keisuke shook his head. "No. What's that?" I choked on my noodles and downed a drink of water that was in front of me

Holy crap! So they really did enter that world after all! And this soon?!

Keisuke looked at me weirdly. "You okay, Nozomi?"

I nodded and faked a smile. "Yeah, of course. The noodles got stuck in my throat, that's all."

Looks like now's the time to explain the truth about Tsubasa and I, and how we ended up in this world in the first place.

What are the odds that Keisuke will believe me or the girls?

Once Miaka and Tsubasa changed into something comfortable (Tsubasa already had some clothes here because the girls have regular sleepovers), they met us in Keisuke's room and sat on his bed, explaining what had happened to them.
