Chapter 28: Tsubasa's Childhood Trauma/Warm Hugs From A Bear

I should mention before you read ahead that the first half of this chapter will have a hint of child abuse after Nozomi's POV.

You can skip that part if you wish, but it is just to explain why Tsubasa fears entering the water (unless taking a shower, or having a bath), and what exactly happened.

*Narrator's POV*

Lady Miaka, with six of her warriors, as well as Lady Tsubasa, the Celestial Guardian, set out by ship for the Konan Empire.

Meanwhile, in the national library back home, Lady Miaka's brother, Keisuke, and Lady Tsubasa's sister, Nozomi, discovered an ominous component of The Universe Of The Four Guards that even Nozomi was unaware of herself, and together with Keisuke, urged their sisters to return at once, but Lady Miaka decided to remain with her new companions, burning her hair which connected her to her brother, and breaking all contact she had with home, with the exception of Lady Tsubasa's newly discovered ability to use Telepathy - an ability her father, the God of the South, Suzaku, uses himself.

Lady Tsubasa also decided to stay, not wanting to give up on her friends and continuing on with her journey to helping them find the Shinzaho, as well as regaining her memories of her time in the world of The Universe Of The Four Gods.

Soon after, the girls expedition was threatened by a sinister lightening storm that would not let up.

*Nozomi's POV*

After an embarrassing few minutes with Tetsuya arguing with the librarian, she soon left, and we sat back down at the table with Tetsuya reading the book out loud again.

So far, I'm not liking where this is going. Tsubasa, Miaka, and the others are caught up in a storm. I'm worried stick about them. "'Tamahome once again save the Priestess of Suzaku from harm, but as he was trying to save the Celestial Guardian from re-living her greatest fear from her childhood, the both of them were struck by lightening-'"

"What?!" I yelled while standing up and scraping my chair, ignoring the stares and whispers from people around us.

"Nozomi, try to calm down." Keisuke spoke calmly.

"I'm sure she'll be okay." Testuya attempted to assure me. "Look, it even says here that 'Nuriko managed to pull them ashore just on time, saving their life in return. His heart ached at the thought of almost losing his beloved Guardian again as he watched over her unconscious form.'"

I sighed in relief and sat back down. "Thank Suzaku for Nuriko. Obviously he'll have to ask me for permission to marry Tsubasa...when the time is right, of course, and when that does happens, I will 100% give him my blessing."

Keisuke sweat-dropped. "You do know you're supposed to meet the guy first face-to-face before actually giving him your blessing, right?"

I gave my boyfriend a look. "After what the both of them have been through, and proving how much they love each other, I'll even give him my permission through Tsubasa's telepathy thingy. If I don't agree, they'll probably end up eloping anyway."

"I feel like we should meet him face-to-face and make judgement ourselves." Tetsuya looked at Keisuke. "We can't be too careful that he won't pull anything on her, if you know what I mean."
