Chapter 23: Love And Sorrow

*Narrator's POV*

The long-awaited ceremony to summon Suzaku was unexpectedly thwarted by Amiboshi, who had been impersonating Chiriko for some time.

The Lady Tsubasa soon arrived with the real Chiriko, but it was too late. As they all watch The Universe Of The Four Gods burn in the sacrificial fire, their prayers remain unanswered.

Taiitsukun directed Lady Miaka and Lady Tsubasa to the land of Genbu to the North. The ruler of the universe had also revealed to Lady Miaka and the Suzaku Warriors who Lady Tsubasa really is.

*Nozomi's POV*

"'Taiitsukun instructed the Priestess to journey to Genbu's land, and gain possession of the Shinzaho relic.'" Keisuke read.

"'However, in order for the Priestess and the Suzaku Warriors to find the Shinzaho, they will need the help from celestial royalty. In their case, they would need the help of the Celestial Guardian, who is, in fact, celestial royalty.'" I read the next part.

"Does that mean that Tsubasa has to be the one to gain possession of it?" I asked.

"It doesn't seem like they have any other choice." Keisuke replied. "A celestial item needing the Celestial Guardian of Suzaku, who also happens to be celestial royalty due to the fact that she is Suzaku's daughter, makes a lot of sense, if you think about it."

I hummed in thought. "I just hope that she doesn't stupidly end up putting her own life at risk because of it."

Keisuke kissed the side of my head. "She'll be fine. She is your sister, after all. Blood or not, she's as stubborn as you, so nothing will get her down that easily."

I chuckled. "Yeah, you're right. She can handle anything, so long as it doesn't get her killed."

*Tsubasa's POV*

"You're Suzaku's daughter?!" Tamahome and Tasuki yelled in surprise.

"One of my best friends is the daughter of a God?!" Miaka's eyes widened. "Wait...Tsubasa, if you're Suzaku's daughter, doesn't that make you-"

"An OP character out of some fanfiction?" I chuckled. "I wouldn't go that far because I haven't really tapped into my powers, but technically speaking, I am a Demi-Goddess."

"Have you known this whole time?" Hotohori asked. "If you did, why hadn't you mentioned anything before?"

I shook my head. "I was only told about this information a couple of hours ago by Taiitsukun and Suzaku himself."

"Tsubasa had a brief chat with Suzaku about her circumstance." Taiitsukun started explaining. "After what happened to her mother, who saved Tsubasa from the attack conducted by the Kutou bandits, Suzaku took Tsubasa to a world different to Miaka's. There, she was adopted by a kind gentleman who had a wife and daughter, Nozomi Moriyama. In order to keep Tsubasa safe from the other Gods and those who seek to harm such as the Kutou bandits, I gave Suzaku the Jewels of Memory, which took away all of her memories she had of this world."

"Why is the truth about Tsubasa only now coming out?" Tasuki asked. "Wouldn't that put her in danger again?"

"It will, but it is a risk I know that Tsubasa will be prepared for." Taiitsukun replied before turning to me. "Dear child, your destiny is now unfolding. Though your journey has made you braver and bolder, you still have a ways to go to be able to stand on your own two feet without the help of those around you, however, one day, you will need the strength of your friends in battle. You will know when the time comes that you will have to fight as if your life depended on it."
